A good friend poured me some. I was a bit torn it was a little harsh to sip on but to pricey to mix. It did have a nice aroma and made a nice rum nโ coke. But for a good mixing rum there are far better and cheaper bottles out there.
Dry, smooth and tasty.
I feel a little fresh grass on palate. Long aftertaste.
Distillate is different from rum made in the Caribbean.
A bargain for the product it is.
I recommend.
Very specific taste. Too much of alcohol. Not for me.
Just added the extra point after more sips. Pretty complex, intriguing taste. It needs a bit of time to evaporate the alcohol.
Edit during coronavirus: great rum, great taste, great medicine. Plus one point! But, what the hell they increased the price by 6$
Allโinizio ha un profumo forte, sembra di plastica. Lascia un buon sapore in bocca.
De los mejores rones de 12 anos, buen aroma y cuerpo, no raspa, sabor de madera y canela al final. Muy recomendable por el precio.
Jamaican rums are undoubtedly good and very well balanced. This is pure Jamaican funk. Just try it and youโll love it!
The first randezvous was quite unpromissing. It smelled like typical rum (overripe banana). A few sips later it revealed much more coplexity, fruitiness and some strange but pleasent, hogo like flavours. Classic, elegant, balanced. Dry but not too much. Highly recommended.
Classic Appleton taste without the harsh. No sweet added like the whole Appleton collection. Some complexity. Woody and rich. One of the best bang for the buck.
Purchased for $31.99 in PA. The nose is rather mild. Upon tasting, the flavor is rather faint. Thin body and finish for an ABV of 43%. I expected more from a well known brand. UPDATE: After having this for a while, I have updated my rating from 6 to 7. It does grow on you after a while.
very tasty and good smelling...like it..due to its strenght (43%) still smooth..
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

I'm surprised that the dominant flavor of this rum reminds me of El Dorado 8 year rum but with a lighter body less sweet finish. I've never been a big fan of Jamaican rums or Appleton in particular but I decided to give this less common 12 year rare blend a try. It's smooth and doesn't have much burn to it at all, however it's just doesn't really fit in my highly prefered category (I'm more of a Cuban, Bajan, or Venezualen style guy I guess). Good to mix just not my favorite flavors in here to sip. I will update this rating as I try more of it bc i often find that I have to transition into liking other rums after each bottle I try. Update: it had grown on me and wen I smell t I say "mmmm". Good stuff for having no added sugar at all. It's definitely a funky fruity whiskey tasting English style rum that has bold flavor.
