A nice jamaican rum
Let it breathe for a while.
Nice colour, balaced taste, not extra sweet, with complexity in the aftertaste.
Definitely a sipper’s choice. Accompany it with dark chocolate and a good cigar.
Nose: Oak, molasses, tar, baked vanilla, pipe tobacco, canned pineapples. If you give it time to breathe, there’s a little bit of dill and rubber coming through.
Taste: Smells sweeter than it drinks. Rather tannic and oaky but elegant. Vanilla spice, allspice, molasses, a hint of smoke with a subtly sweet baseline of overripe tropical fruit holding it all together.
Finish: Warm and spicy with liquorice root, tobacco and notes of leather polish.
A very balanced rum. Warm Caribbean spice accompanied by a very moderate amount of Jamaican funk and fruity ester notes presented in a very formal and smart oak framing.
Note: I'm a sipper. My opinion is based on sipping characteristics.
Frankly I'm leaning between 7 and 8 but let me just have another bottle before upping my rating. The rare blend delivers excellent experience with quite some development and pretty long finish. Off to a smooth start and it's just few moments after when the aftershock hits. It's a thing I tend to call "the lidocaine effect" as everything goes numb for few moments. And I shall say this one might as well have the longest lidocaine effect of everything I have tasted. A really good sipper.
Lekker spannende rum .
Met mooie fruitige en kruidige tonen
Deși un pic mai spirtos (43%), aromele se disting bine iar Aftertaste-ul subtil încheie bine acest rom plăcut .
Great rum for the price. I definitely wouldn't hesitate to buy again.
Nice rum from jamaica, would recomend this one cheers!
I like this rum, especially for the low price of only $32.99 (TotalWines 2016)!
It's a tad sweeter than both the Appleton 12 and 21 (but still rather dry as are all the Appletons I've tried). It's very, very close in taste to those, but slightly better IMHO. Notes of oak, almond, vanilla, molasses, and nutmeg. Try blind tasting this against the 21 - you may even prefer this to that, as I did.
You know what, I could sip on this rum for a while. It has a great Carmel and molasses nose, and the taste is mild with a little character. Little too tart for me, but not obnoxious. Have a try, but there are better between 10-15 years old
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

Solid blended rum. Nothing special but nothing bad. Pleasant from nose to throat.
