An excellent representation of Rhum Agricole. A really interesting nose, with complex layers of sweet grass, vanilla, pepper, smoke, and fruit. Smooth and dry finish. Definitely a distinct rum for fans of rhum agricole.
Just finished the bottle and I’m still not sure what to think about this rum. I like it, but..a hot finish kind of bites, admittedly it cools down to a enjoyable green apple/ pear finish that leaves you wanting another sweet slap to your taste buds. I’ve got another bottle, perhaps I’ll bump it up, but for now my rating is a 7.5. Overall an enjoyable experience.
Really nice and smooth, very little bite from start to finish. Typical grassy notes, but with a hint of honey. Nice slight spice on the front of my tongue. I would guess whisky drinkers would really love this - worth a try for anyone.
I remember reading reviews for rums from "rumdood" many years ago when I was starting my first liquor cabinet. His rum reviews prompted me to buy this as a blind purchase (the most expensive bottle in my collection at the time)
To this date it remains in my top 3 rums.
The nose is all sweet sugar cane juice, cinnamon and light nutmeg and florals.
Coloration is light gold, lighter than you would expect for such deep flavor. Almost like grade A light amber maple syrup.
The taste is incredibly rich and fresh for a rum that features such old casks. Amazing! best agricole I have sampled.
I hope one day to be able to purchase this rum again
The odour isn't that incredible but the flawor. Wow... just wow.
It starts burned and soon you get a long rich taste of dried fruit, licorice and lots of other nice flawors. A taste lasting longer than any other rhum.
