Everything about this rhum speaks of balanced elegance. The body is light but also very flavourful. The mouthfeel is likewise light but full at the same time. Wow. The nose starts with floral notes, like honeysuckle, then complemented by creme brûlée, tobacco, roasted nuts, and something that reminds me of maple syrup or Lyle’s Golden Syrup. I agree with the observation of some that there is a whisky-like quality to this rhum. Yes, but just to be clear: not just any whisky but an older, elegant expression. The nose reminds me of Wiser’s 18 yo, which is fabulous stuff. The palate of this rhum initially offers up a touch of sweetness, which quickly fades off to reveal banana bread, golden raisin, brown sugar, and some lovely oak notes before the finish goes out with a little bit of heat - nothing detrimental. I didn’t detect much agricole quality, at least as far as herbal notes or grassiness. There is a lightness about this rhum that is perhaps how the style reveals itself. Pretty amazing stuff and very highly recommended.

I would say it is a bit to much hold back in flavours of deep ageed oak. If the distillery could loosen them selves from being so Frenchly-"Cognac proud" and allow the master blender to find age tales and heads and other complex " impurities" only found in rhum, this blend could be a magical bestseller scoring 10.

I gave the VSOP a very strong review. This is noticeably more vibrant that the VSOP. Smoother also, with the same notes and flavor characteristics. One of the best agricole rums I have ever tried. If you like agricole you should try this.

A very pleasant starter agricole for those who prefer sweeter rum but want to try other things. A bit oak at the end.

First of all, the bottle and packaging are sublime. The nose one opening is very rich. Dried fruits, Vanilla, brown sugar, but the taste is doesn't offer as much as the nose. It falls short a little.

Nice Agricole rum. Great smell and good taste. Typical Martinique taste.

Romhatten. 42%. Mørk gul. Kolonnedestilleret. XO = mindst 6 år. Duft af mørk sukker, syrlige frugter. Smag af pære, grøn æble, peber, nogen sødme. Lagret på bourbon- og friske egetræsfade.

An excellent representation of Rhum Agricole. A really interesting nose, with complex layers of sweet grass, vanilla, pepper, smoke, and fruit. Smooth and dry finish. Definitely a distinct rum for fans of rhum agricole.

I’ve
Just finished the bottle and I’m still not sure what to think about this rum. I like it, but..a hot finish kind of bites, admittedly it cools down to a enjoyable green apple/ pear finish that leaves you wanting another sweep slap to your taste buds. I’ve got another bottle, perhaps I’ll bump it up, but for now my rating is a 7.5.
