plutot bon, mais peut etre arrangé
Minty on the nose, very light aroma. Very crisp tongue. Carries a menthol taste strongly through the body. Subtle vanilla tones. I would almost liken the experience of drinking to that of a smooth tequila in the way it washes over the tongue and carries a strong aftertaste.
No wow factor for the price. Did not really like it but I mixed it with coke and it was nice light and airy
I had the feeling that I was drinking brandy.
This is more a kind of rum for people who also like to drink whiskey
I'm disappointed by this rhum. It has a strong smell that is unpleasant to me, though some of my friends do love it.
This is my first experience with Rhum agricole. The nose is spice citrusy. The color is amber. Medium legs on glass. The taste is more like whiskey; very little sweetness. Mild after burn. I prefer sweeter rums. Maybe a good choice for smokey whiskey drinkers but not on my like list.
J'aime particulièrement les ronds et ce rhum est encore un peu trop sec. Je resterai donc pour le moment dans les rhums de mélasse pour l'instant. Bonne dégustation!
Not bad rum.
But something chemical in the taste.
Sec en bouche, il laisse sur la langue un fort de bois humide. Les arômes sont là, mais ce n'est pas mon genre.
1st rhum vieux agricole tasted,
Nice amber colored, the "vieux Clément" is dry, a bit harsh in the mouth, with a strong wood note.
Then tobacco and vanilla taste.
Nice and sweet sugarcane finish.
Not bad dry, better in "ty punch".
Can someone tell me what justifies the high prices demanded for rhum agricole? Sure, I know there's a process with strict rules. But if that produces a result that gives me literally none of the enjoyment of rum made in other ways, I can't justify it. Is there anyone here who thinks this product compares to the Zacapa 23 Solera, the Plantation 20th Anniversary or the Kirk & Sweeney 12 Year? On price alone, it should. But it doesn't. Two positive points that bring the rating up to "5": First, Clement has chosen a handsome, displayable package. Second, if you're a cognac drinker, this would be a good substitute for any garden-variety VSOP cognac.
If you are a whiskey fan you should try this. I won't say it was bad, but I won't say it was good either.
I found it dry although the nose is quite nice and very flavoured with oak and floral notes. Once you drink it this is a very different story. It is very dry and harsh not sweet and reminds of a whiskey as a lot of people say. Now the finish: that's the part I liked most to be honest as I could feel it for a very long time and the taste became slightly sweeter and more balanced revealing more complexity. Just a shame that you have to go all though this to have a glimpse of hope. To me here is a lack of consistency in this rum from nose to finish. Not that bad but not great a all
I was really looking forward to this as I am partial to drier rums. Very disappointed by the harsh, weed killer scents and flavors of this rum. On the good side, it went great over a Christmas Stollen where the cake could bury the off flavors.
A smokey rum that tastes like a whiskey, but after adding some ice tastes more promising.
A very smoky rum with a lingering finish that seems to coat my mouth with a buttery feeling. Slightly harsh, better with a dab of water
Had a rum tasting on a sunny Saturday afternoon, because why not. Add 3 points to the score if you like Rhum Agricole's. I don't fancy the Clement VSOP at all since it is way too dry for my taste. It is a very flavorful Rhum Agricole in general terms, but not my cup of tea. There is mild burn at the end, but the flavor profile is quite a mixture of very large bunch of flavors. It's not bad at all, but deserves a score of 4, nothing more.
A rather strange, not typical rhum taste. As many Agricoles it is almost a mixture of rhum and whisky. The colour is light, the nose is mild and the taste is certainly not for me!!!!
Hands down the worst rum I've had. The chemical taste that this rum has renders it close to undrinkable. I've tried it straight. I've tried it in a cocktail. Every time the same stron chemical flavor takes over. I'm struggling to figure out what to do with the rest of the bottle.
I didn't like this one at all. Is way too dry for me
The aroma of this rum is very good, but taste is strange.
I could drink only first glass, and gave it bottle to my friend.
My friend give it to next his friend again.....
