I tried this one at last rum tasting event...I was surprised how nice it tasted! No added sugar, which you will like after all those Riise/Zacapa/DonPapa.
They store it 3 years in US white oak casks, then 6 years in port casks. It is a crossover between port and rum, which makes it unique.
For this price a must have with very nice bottle!

Nose: mild alcohol, cherry
Body: no extra sweetness, strong, port taste, bit of vanilla
Tail: raw, very long lasting,opening up
Bottle: definitely upper average!

More fatness than I would have expected. A very good glass if you are looking for value for the money! It defiantly has the Bajan feel, and brings a aromatic first impression.

Deze rum heeft eerst 3 jaar gerijpt op bourbon vaten en daarna nog 6 jaar op port vaten en geen suiker,kleurstoffen etc. toegevoegd. Want daar staat deze distilleerderij om bekend.

Hele zachte, licht zoete rum met subtiele port smaak. Top.

This is very good, but not exactly to my liking. Should I rate it lower for that? I don't think so. Just because I might have paid a little too much for a high end mixer, it won't be the first time. It won't stop me from trying the next Foursquare/Seale offering. They make a mean rum. Try them all, and you will easily like way more than you don't.

I really enjoy the port cask influence. It makes this rum more complex and very interesting. Already getting more expensive in Holland so buy it while it is still available. In my opinion a very honest rum.

Got the privilege to get a glass in the Rumbarrel (rum-cafe in Amsterdam). It is the first in the exceptionel cask selection and it's really good. I hope there is still some left for my next visit to the Rumbarrel.

Aroma: Velmi příjemná vůně. Jde o výtečný mix propolisu, medu, včelích pláství, kokosu, máty, ale i těžce květinových a ovocných vůní (sušené borůvky), ke kterým se přidává i cedrové dřevo. (89 b)
Chuť: Vůně mě připravila na něco sladšího, takže při první ochutnávce jsem byl překvapen suchou chutí. Klasicky rumový projev s kůží, kakaovou suchostí, větrovou dřevitostí a opáleným dřevem v dozvuku. (85 b)
Body: 87/100
Shrnutí: Vliv portského bych nehádal a ani nepoznal. Baví mě víc svou vůní, v chuti neurazí. Pro ty, co hledají suchý rum, je to ideální volba. I když jsem spíš na sladší rumy, nákupu lahve nelituju.
