Many thanks to Joola69 for sharing this as part of a rare rum exchange. My intuition tells me that tequila isn't the best barrel to age rum in, but let's give it a shot.

The rum base seems to be decent, but as expected, I'm not a big fan of the tequila aging. Smells and tastes of molasses, tequila, oak, and tobacco leaf. Probably not a bad drink if you like tequila, but I'm more of a rum guy.

Mahogany coloured amber with copper reflections in the glass.
In the nose, a depth and calm comes to you like in a deep dark forest. The elegant playful freshness forms an interesting counterpart. Lime zests poured into caramel with a touch of chocolate dust. Freshly planed wood covered with a thin layer of moss. After a longer period of time, some smoked celery is added.
On the palate very soft and discreet. Caramel and toffee are quite present at the beginning before the tequila barrel interfere with its strange aromas . Unripe berries and white hard fruits shake the Solera harmony.
The finish is lovely and sweet at the beginning, but unfortunately a bitterness remains after that.
A Ron that deviates a little from the Oliver & Oliver sugar line. Does not make it better but less sweet. For discoverers and escapees.

Enjoyed a bottle of Pancho Villa 1988 with my buddies in Germany. Very unique labeling and great sturdy bottle design. Deep mahogany color. Very strong oak straight to nose and palate. Mild burn at the end. Solid 10 for a Whisky lover.

Jemný a příjemný. Dozrávání mu dává lehkou štiplavost do chutě i do vůně.

When is rum fibished, it stay 8 months in barrel after tequila, which give to rum special taste of it.

Also very classical stuff similar to cubaney 25. I enjoyed cubaney more.

Fin rom, til pengene. Har en god eftersmag uden at blive for sød.
