Sugar-cane molasses from East Africa, pot distilled in the UK and aged in English oak casks which results in the Matugga Golden Rum.
For the Spiced rum (as per their website) they have macerated this with East African spiced blend of black tea, ginger, cloves, vanilla, cardamom and cinnamon
This is a nice spiced rum which has a bit of a kick with a very long liquorice/Christmas cake kind of finish.
Good to see this is bottled at a higher (42%) abv than usual for a spiced rum.
Very smooth, sweet tasting with flavours of honey, chocolate and hint of tangerine. Very nice to sip
