One of the first rums that I found both very, very original in taste, and very good indeed. The flavors are rich, intense, the pineapple is very distinctive (resembles a bit some pinacolada aromas). Overall a really good choice, especially if someone is bored with classical rum taste.
Yes, it tastes like sweet pineapple. Is it even a rum? Ok, a spiced rum it is. Not my cup of tea.
Good rum, excellent clear caramelised pineapple and toffee flavours with nice but maybe a touch too much sweetness, a great sipper for one with a sweeter tooth.
Found it very tasty. Sweet taste with pineapple aftertaste. A good choice. Served with one ice cube. Realy enjoyed.
It's definitely not a sipper.
It really does have pineapple flavor, but the distillate is not pleasant.
A little spicy in aftertaste.
Pineapple shines through with plenty of funk and a bit of oaky contrast. Slight burn on the finish, but a good rum overall. It was good enough that it made me want to try Plantation's other stuff- a brand that I have sadly overlooked. Unfortunately this was my last tipple on a major night out at a tiki bar and the bartender was pouring me sample after sample of rums I had never had on the house. Needless to say, not an entirely lucid experience.
A nice plantagion rum subtly infused with pineapple aromas. Not too on the nose. Not too sweet.
Málo sladký, ale s nádechem ananasové vůně, která přechází do nasládlé chuti.
Warms my cockles of my heart and my throat. Fruity.
Lite för mycket annanassmak, drickbar men inget jag skulle köpa hem
The nose is sweet but not overly so.
"Smells very much of fresh pineapple as opposed to sweetened tinned pineapple."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

Perhaps not one for all rum purists, but this is a far cry from a spiced rum, so I would recommend trying it with an open mind.
When I first uncorked the bottle, it was like sniffing a ripe pineapple that had been soaked in smooth and fruity rum. The taste was then no surprise, with strong notes of pineapple, which doesn't overpower the rummy flavour. The combination of infusing the rum with pineapple bark and then adding distilled pineapple macerate gives a fruity flavour, whilst remaining far less sweet than you might expect ("off-dry" is probably the best descriptor), with a hint of burnt molasses and a smokey finish. I haven't tried the Plantation Original Dark that is used as the base for this, but can deduce that it must have a fairly prominent banana flavour, as this cuts through behind the pineapple. As with most rums, adding a tiny splash of water opens up the flavour a bit.
As has already been said by others, it would be very easy to sip your way through half a bottle of this neat without realising.
I haven't tried mixing it yet, but I'm going to have some with a splash of hot water and some sugar before bed tonight :)
