Thanks so much for submitting a report. It has been emailed to the Rum Captain and will be actioned shortly.
Nothing much sadly going on in there, no aftertaste, just stingy ethanol and pineapple additive. Not terrible either, but you get what you see.
Plantation quality with a hint of pineapple. Nice aroma, not very sweet taste, long fruity aftertaste.
Interesting to taste, once or twice. OK taste and nose. Not my favourite, but worth of testing
good taste of pineapple, soft with nice aftertaste
Taste 7/10. Definitely you can taste nice apple with some sweetness, spiciness & some burn but nothing similar to tastefull or special. Just an ok drink for tonight which is next.
I was happily surprised when I drank this one. I drank it on the rocks, and the mixture of the smoothness and the tang from the pineapple was quite nice. Don't drink too much at once because my tongue began to get a tartness burn haha. But a great rum to enjoy!
Smells and taste like "natural" pineapple, thus, not very artificial as it could be expected. Fits in very well. Good stuff.
I think this was one of the first rum I bought. Wasn’t wild about it neat. Since then I’ve tasted other aged rum and now I think I get it. I admire the effort. It manages to hot, bitter, fruity and sweet all pretty much at once. A musty pineapple short finish. As a mixer I think it has potential. Tried it with a dight of ginger beer and didn’t think it helped. I know there’s a cocktail in there somewhere. I’ll keep trying.
Beautiful rum, sad that the bottle is almost gone. Not too sweet, still has a solid rum body, gorgeous pineapple flavour. Have made a few daiquiris with it (use about half the simple syrup you normally would) but mostly this is for sipping. A great bottle to have on the shelf to introduce someone to rum or sipping spirits in general. Tough to find where I'm at but one of the very few that I will buy the moment I see it.
Plantation pineapple rum is pretty good. I like the plantation xo better.
I'm relatively new to the rum scene having started at the sweet, inexpensive Bumbu rum and the sweet, too expensive Diplomatico Exclusiva Reserva.
As I mentioned in my Bumbu review, I'm something of a rebel at heart and I'm always looking for something that little bit different and unique. It comes as no surprise then that my sweetened taste buds and attraction to history led me to try Plantation's Pineapple Rum "Stiggin's Fancy."
And I'm glad to say it did.
I thoroughly enjoyed this bottle (it didn't last long). I now look upon it as a "rum rung" in a ladder of my experiences with the spirit. I see it as an evolution of my taste moving upwards away from the overly sweet (but flavoursome) Bumbu, to that fertile middle ground that most rums seen to inhabit, where sweetness gives way to the more subtle mix of flavours beneath.
I won't rise above my station just yet by trying to describe the nuances of this rum, but rest assured it occupies a place in my mind that is a progression from the delicious mild Bumbu and the boldly flavoured Rumbullion, in that it is less sweet and more subtly flavoured.
Recommended for the experience!
Very smooth. Very moreish.Roll on Sundowners tonight
Rum je jemný a ve vůni i v chuti dominuje ananas. Nečekejte však sladké pití. Jde o další vydařený rum značky Plantation.
Dejlig frisk sommer rom, der kan nydes rent, men også er helt fantastisk som mixer,
Sharp bite of alcohol on the front gives way to sweet rum flavor. Pineapple comes in late and subtle. Rough when sipped neat. Best when mixed.
Nice subtitle pineapple touch. Nothing more to say. Just try
Yep I like it. Not my classy go to but a damn fine weekend drank
If you like pineapple its amazing. Its such a smooth sipper I haven’t got round to trying it in a cocktail yet but I’m pretty sure it will be awesome.
This rum has fantastic reviews and many friends of mine are also big fans of this rum. I understand why people enjoy this rum, but it is not for me, I did not like it as a sipper and feel its better serviced in cocktails. The nose carries a sweet buttery pineapple scent, that is a bit off putting for me. Warm rum spice and liberal amounts of pineapple come with the sipping. It also carries a bit of heat, but the sweetness of this rum becomes just a bit to syrupy. Its finish is a bit to strong on the pineapple flavor for me and it lingers for quite awhile. This is an interesting rum for sure, and if you are looking for sweet and pineapple, Id imagine you will enjoy this rum in any format. If it was a few notches less sweet and carried a bit more oak, id be a bigger fan.
It's nice but was expecting a sweeter pineapple fruit finish rather than steeped with the bark. It's good to mix but more of a novelty rum the 5 year old expression is much better and £10 cheaper
Love this one, I like using this one in classic recipes like the maitai or daiquiri and see what happens. Great to sip on or in an old-fashioned
Ambra dark, pineapple ,ananas, pineapple, pineapple ,ananas, pineapple ananas...
I am a big fan of Plantation rums and not general a fan of flavored spirits especially rums. This is not too bad neat or on ice but it can also be mixed. Definitely a great summer and party rum to have around.
After trying don papa and getting the nose of candy floss and unbridled sweetness I was worried about this one. Plantation XO is my favorite rum so I’m pleased to say this is very good. Sweet on the nose with pineapple, toffee and vanilla. Smooth on the palate, a slight burn but a lovely mouth feel leaving a taste of sweet pineapple. This isn’t going to stand up to the worlds best rums but as a fancy rum it’s excellent.
