Bought a case last summer while in NYC for a short vacation. A lot of expectations after following and reading on the birth, or re-birth I should say of the Pineapple Rum. And it does not disappoint.
It is like mentioned elsewhere a lot more rum forward than pineapple. The nose is classic aged rum full of spices and toffee, with at first a quite subtle pineapple rinds note. Taste is generous. Compared to the Original Dark which it it is based on, this a lot longer, with the pineapple giving it a delicious round buttery finish. And then the pineapple just grows on you. Letting it breath will unleash the pineapple in a luscious way.
My friend and I each drank a bottle while in NYC, roaming around with our flasks filled up with it. I mixes incredably well, in lattes for breakfast, and especially with the local Lime Rickey, for of safe street sipping new classic drink: The Pineapple Rickey.
Not sipping the stuff all day was the toughest thing returning back home after this short vacation. You live in the US? Consider yourself blessed and seek it. Great folks at Ferrand/ Plantation are currently concocting a new batch of 50K+ bottles so hopefully it will become more widely available. Unfortunately it won't be available here in Quebec for 2016.
Thank you Plantation!

Smells like caramelized pineapple and brown sugar.

One of the few "flavored rum" that is done the right way and taste delicious. Good for sipping as well as making a Painkiller Cocktail or Pineapple Daiquiri

This flavoured rum is delicious, its buttery, sweet and savoury. Complexity (of rum) is lost with sugar and flavourings sure, but this isn't rum anymore. Its more like a [strong] liqueur I guess. The flavours taste quite natural, will be great in a Royal Bermuda Yacht Club I reckon. I'll let you know.

The pineapple aroma and taste is really well integrated here. It still retains the rum taste even though it is sweet and very fruity. It's not great for long-term sipping, but it tastes good in a cocktail.

Not a big fan of flavoured rums as they have always been too fake tasting and bad rum. Because of that I have made my own vanilla rum and coconut rum using a good Barbados white but have always stayed away from pineapple due to its propensity of the pineapple also starting to ferment. This is the best pineapple rum I can find. It is made with a dark Barbados rum which does not have a lot of the adulteration that other rums have.
If you are looking for a sweet concoction this is not your rum. If you want rum with a hint of pineapple this is for you.

I've read a lot about this rum. I've seen if quite often in many places. It looked like it's a kind of must-have - and damn it is!

While the fruity aroma and taste (really close to the very natural one) made be a little quirky for sipping, it's just great for so many cocktails. A classic daquiri or cuba libre is so much different with it!

So yes, it's a must-have for mixing and parties. As good as they say.

I love this in a rum and Coke! I sat and drank this all day last weekend and LOVED it! Nice and smooth with hints of fruit and a touch of spice.

I discovered this rum recently and I didn't know what to think about it.
It is really good on its own or in a cocktail. the pineapple is infused, so the taste is light and subtle. it has nothing to do with flavored rums. I recommend.

This is a beguiling rum; the taste is so interesting but it’s not sweet or chemically. Lovely dry notes

Not a pure rum since it is a pineapple 'marinated' rum, but not harsh, not too sweet, fruity. Perfect balance.
