Plantation Pineapple Stiggin's Fancy

First, a disclaimer - I'm not a big fan of flavored rums, and I'm also not a big fan of pineapple. But this rum surprised me.

The pineapple is light, not overpowering, and the base rum flavor is nice, with sugarcane, molasses, some pineapple, spice, and maybe even a light touch of bourbon.

It's one of my favorite flavored rums (thought the Clement Creole Shrubb is my all time favorite as of this review). Well worth buying, especially if you like flavored rums!

I had seen this for months on the shelves but didn’t take it seriously. I picked it up after doing some reading of reviews here and other online sources. It’s actually a very good and serious sipping rum. Bartenders may be happy to use it in cocktails but it can easily stand as a lovely sipper in its own right. The pineapple is faint, certainly not a cloying, dominant note. There is nothing here that tastes fake or heavy. The nose has discernible echoes of the cognac cask and a lovely spice. The palate has some sweetness, with molasses, ginger, and butter complimenting the nuanced presence of the pineapple. Great sipper!

For some reason I was expecting this to be sweeter, but it was still very good. Indeed has the pineapple taste, I drank it neat. It is a bit expensive to buy in Singapore (approx 90 SGD/65 USD), for this money I van find much better options.

This is more like a 7.5. Just not quite an 8. Another quality rum from a great distillery. The pineapple is very natural, very present but not overpowering. No artificial or additive flavors. Smooth with oak and hints of vanilla and spice. Good sipper. Will really make your pineapple cocktails soar.

First off, the work that went into this rum, from research to production is astounding.

It is exactly what it sounds like, a rum that has naturally been brought to taste like pineapple. This doesn't detract from a very nice undertone of your typical Caribbean spiced rum, but the pineapple flavor takes front and center stage in both the nose and mouth feel.
Very tangy, and a fantastic addition to any mixed drink if you're looking to brighten it up. I even added this rum when a recipe called for pineapple juice and I didn't have any on hand. It worked very well.

Beautiful colour, very feint pineapple on the nose, actually I get more mango with that sweet molasses wafting throughout. It was a little harsh as a sipping rum, not so bad on the rocks but very refreshing on the rocks with a dash of lime juice. I also used it with a pina colada and it was wonderful (I can see you turning your noses at me suggesting the pina colada...... You do you, I'll be me 😉)

Is there a pineapple? As a Plantation rum it's ok but as a pineapple it's not.

in miros se simte in primul rand caramelul. un miros dulceag in care te mangaie si ananasul, era de asteptat ) dar si tarie se simte

prima senzatie in gust e sublima, ceva tarie placuta , nu i moale deloc dar e placut; apoi vine ceva caramel , usor gust de vanilie, ca apoi in urma sa simti destul de intens si placut ananasul ) acest gust se simte cat se poate de natural, a meritat infuzarea , e minunata.. dar acest rom nu are complexitate, nu are nimic misterios, nu lasa sa se inteleaga ( ca alte romuri) ca ar mai fi ceva ascuns undeva , si ca ar trebui incercat iar sa simti cumva o alta latura .. nu stiu daca asta se intampla din cauza acapararii de catre ananas a tot ce inseamna gust pe final, sau pur si simplu nu are altceva.. daca ar fi avut complexitate si ceva gust de invechit ar fi fost cu adevarat deosebit, dar i lipseste misterul..

in orice caz un rom bun care cu siguranta la prima degustare iti va aduce zambetul pe buze, iar apoi vei dori mister si vei cauta altceva )

Really OK - nice natural pineaple taste - could be more exciting though
