Plantation Original Dark Pineapple is een mooie bruine rum met een infusie van annanas. Door het laten rijpen van de Original Dark Rum gedurende 3 maanden met de schil van rijpe Queen Victora ananassen wordt deze mooie rum gemaakt. De welbekende Plantation Original Dark 73% Overproof is hier de basis van, deze mooi en straffe rum van 73% afkomsting uit Trinidad en gemaakt door Cognac Ferrand estate wordt geblend met een distillaat die een inbreng heeft van rijpe Queen Victoria ananassen en witte rum waarna deze twee worden samengebracht en eerst nog een extra periode mogen rijpen in vaten.
Deze rum leent zich er goed on zo te drinken, eventueel met een ijs blokje maar mengen in een cocktail is ook zeker aan te raden!

Really didn't think I'd like this, but very tasty, slightly chemically pineapple flavour, but still good neat and I imagine great in cocktails.

Good strong pineapple nose, but you don’t get quite as much when sipping it, and that’s probably good.

It first needs a bit to air down, then it is quite light, the pineapple taste is just barely there. Medium burn..not too sweet.

This was a cool change from a regular aged rum, you dont really know what to expect when it says pineapple on the lable. Pineapple could overpower a delicate rum but dont fear, the distillers and blenders at plantation know their stuff. This rum boasts a host of fruity goodness with a perfect amount of pineapple to bring it all together. This would be killer in a cocktail on a sunny summer day. I'll be keeping this in mind for next summer

Nice drop, the pineapple is in there but it is much more faint that other pineapple rums - this is a good thing! Goes very well with a ginger beer and lime. Would buy again!

I'm relatively new to the rum scene having started at the sweet, inexpensive Bumbu rum and the sweet, too expensive Diplomatico Exclusiva Reserva.

As I mentioned in my Bumbu review, I'm something of a rebel at heart and I'm always looking for something that little bit different and unique. It comes as no surprise then that my sweetened taste buds and attraction to history led me to try Plantation's Pineapple Rum "Stiggin's Fancy."

And I'm glad to say it did.

I thoroughly enjoyed this bottle (it didn't last long). I now look upon it as a "rum rung" in a ladder of my experiences with the spirit. I see it as an evolution of my taste moving upwards away from the overly sweet (but flavoursome) Bumbu, to that fertile middle ground that most rums seen to inhabit, where sweetness gives way to the more subtle mix of flavours beneath.

I won't rise above my station just yet by trying to describe the nuances of this rum, but rest assured it occupies a place in my mind that is a progression from the delicious mild Bumbu and the boldly flavoured Rumbullion, in that it is less sweet and more subtly flavoured.

Recommended for the experience!

Plantation pineapple rum is pretty good. I like the plantation xo better.
