Thanks so much for submitting a report. It has been emailed to the Rum Captain and will be actioned shortly.
This is nothing but cinnamon rum with a bit of lime. It’s good for shots at a high school party only.
Really not fit for my enemy also .. no way shoudl any one buy it no even to taste
I'm not too much of a fan of Captain original, but this stuff is actually pretty good. It has a nice dark hue, but it's not a black rum. It has hints of lime, an orange taste(almost like grand marnier), a nice coca taste, caramel. It's great just on the rocks or straight. It's smooth @ 70 proof(very drinkable). It puts Tattoo to shame, which in my opinion is Captian's worst.
I received this bottle as a gift. As far as CM products go this was better then expected but not good enough to place in my cabinet. Citrus flavour mixed with spice? Not your typical rum! But good for a novelty shot with friends before bringing out the good stuff
I think Cannon Blast is great for shots and to get the party going. Not need to add or mix anything, as the fireball flavor with a dash of citrus makes Cannon Blast a very nice shot.
Captain Morgan brings out special products every so often and then they are gone. Some are quite good, others not so much. This is marginal at best, unless you love cinnamon, then you’ll love it. Not for me.
So i see a lot of haters here but really what do you expect for 19 bucks! Take the bite off the cheap rum with an ice cube let it melt and enjoy rhe citris burn. Really one of my fo too cheap rums. I lke it. Interesting flavour that i suppose everyone expects to taste like a 200 dollar bottle of rum. Great iced by the pool.
Like it for a shot. And it's something completely different. Like the bottle very much with the name.
Imma just say, it's a one and done for me!!! Something about it just makes me not wanna drink ever again. So, I'm pretty sure it'll be sittin on my shelf for a good 2+yrs
After 15 years of aged rum tastings I ventured to try out the Captain Morgan Cannon Blast. Such an overwhelming amount of artificial cinnamon flavors that it tastes really offputting. For your own sanity, go right now to your closest liquor store and buy a bottle of Diplomatico Reserva Exclusiva, try it out and you will never ever even think about Captain Morgan again.
The top 10 worst rums I have ever tried:
1. Barbancourt 4y / 8y / 15y
2. Bounty Dark Rum from Fiji
3. Stroh 40 / 80
4. Plantation Pineapple Stiggin's Fancy
5. Villa Rica 23y
6. Mocambo 15y / 20y
7. Captain Morgan different variations
8. Don Papa 10y / 15y
9. Bacardi flavored "rums", all of them
10. Kraken rums
It's sweet, but it has a warm feeling after you drink it has a cinnamon taste.
Nasty. It tastes like chemicals, it smells like chemicals, and it doesn't make a very good mixer because no one wants more chemical flavor in their cokes. I love the packaging, and I always have one on hand because of that, but it is not for consumption.
My son was ranting and raving about how good this stuff was. I took a taste and spit it out. Nasty would be a improvement
this is the bet mixing rum i own, AMAZING. I truely enjoy it.
Totally got me with the promotions on this one. It is rough on the way down. The overall flavor isn't too bad but it is a cheap rum
Me and my friend drank this tonight. Took 7 shots to finally get fuckin drunk & it tasted like ass. Like literally worst shit I've ever tasted in my life. Whoever invented this needs to go to jail. I wamted to set it on fire but my friend said no. If not I would've. I feel bad but not really. like a little bit. Discontinue this shit before I call the cops
Obviously not fit for consumption. Using it as a car parts solvent now and it's doing a half decent job. Unfortunately, the parts will need some time to air out the horrible stench of said solvent.
On ice, this could be sipped. Very sweet, a little syrupy, heavily flavored. Lemon, pepper, something kicky... (jalapeno?) Not a particularly good rum, but it has a neat flavor, easily drinkable with Coke (or Diet Pepsi, which is what I'm currently drinking). Makes a decent shot, especially if you're in college. Neat bottle. Nothing to rave about, but it's fun.
Not good. Smells like Dr pepper. Tastes like a mouth full of black pepper soaked in lime juice. This would probably make a great wings marinade, but I definitely don't recommend actually drinking it.
I'm a fan of flavored rums, this was tough to swallow, literally. Syrupy sweet. Hint of citrus laced with kerosene. Ice cold shot was about the only way to get it down.
I'd pass on this one.
Someone else mentioned Fruity Pebbles cereal - pretty accurate if you ask me. It has a unique taste to it and I think it is best mixed with Dr. Pepper. It's kinda weird, but kinda good at the same time. Good for parties. Perfect for "Talk Like A Pirate" Day.
Great for sipping over ice or mixed with ginger ale. Doesn't have that strong bite like most aged rums. Yes it is sweet but rums main ingredient is sugar cane. If you want barrel taste with a bite, drink bourbon.
It burned quite a bit and the lime flavor to it was not pleasant
Nose = Angostura Orange Bitters - cardamom + water
Palate: not the right word. Tastes like molasses soaked oranges with a hint of baking spice.
Finish is wonky and off-putting. It's something medicinal, and not the romanticized scotch-ey sense, but medicinal as in it tastes like a bizarrely sweet cough syrup.
