This is a decent Jamaican with all the funky notes you expect from the genre. Slightly fermented and perfumed, with notes of overly ripe exotic fruits, spices and rubber. I feel the balance is a little off though. It lacks a little body and refinement, to counter the Jamaican profile. Not all out enjoyable as a sipper but makes for a splendid mixer if your cocktail needs a little character. The bottle looks very cool.
This rum has great story behind it. The taste has quite strong caraway in it followed by caramel, not very sweet. Taste of ethanol is there also. I would like to think that taste should have developed more smooth over the years. Maybe the preservation method has not been optimal. Would not recommend to a beginner but still a great rum to have in your collection.
