Expected a bit more. Not sure what I didn't like about it but wouldn't order again.
Nose: rich spices, some oak, some smoke and maybe even some caramel.
Palate: also spicy, warm, even slightly burning, long lasting, slightly oaky, but a little bit thin. No caramel.
(Cal 2019 day 13)
There is some deep flavor to it, reminiscent of El Dorado, but the dry nature takes away from the rum in my opinion.
Nice color, nice taste. But not really more than nice
Really nice supprise. I suggest to read the story behind this rum. Nice and strong smell of wood, vanilla and honey. In taste you can really feel a lot of wood from cask with another flavours like chocolate, vanilla and some spice. It is well balanced and nicely smooth.
I really like this rum. It's got a great nose of almond and vanilla with a taste of nuts, cinnamon and oak. The only knock from giving it a higher number is the cost. For the same price you can get much better rums which is a shame since if was a little cheaper I would put it in my daily rotation of sippers.
Clearly recomendable for all looking for some real Rum.
This is how good Rum schoud taste.
Not bad. It has midium light body and low sweetness.
Admiral Rodney from same St, Lucia distillery is better.
Nice sipping rum for an acceptable Price.
I like it, but it is far from my favorites.
Not much complex and bit burning during first taste, but well ballanced sweet, fruit and spice taste. Aftertaste long with oak tones.
N- An old cabinet stores with abundance of spices, herbs and tobaccos. Also burning joss stick and sandalwood. With sweeter note of banana and cherry tiramisu underlay. (86/20)
P- Robust, mint leaf with posh spiciness. Intense sourish oak of musky and moldy nuances. Oxidized notes that may not be everyone's preference, but certainly bold, authentic and nostalgic. (89/22)
F- Long, wood smokes, dry with plenty of chewy herbs.(88/22)
B/B- 87/21. Plenty of wood shouting about, but lack some filler for finesse and agility.
Weighted Rate- 85pt

Funky nose. Caramel notes with spice. Pretty smooth.
Good but not great, quite dry and we feel the alcohol stong.
I'm more the sweet rum guy, so I am not the luckiest one with this rum. I like its smell, but for me it's not enough sweetness and a to strong taste to enjoy it very often.
Pěkně voní a chutná po kouří, koření a dřevu. Nečekané silny. Závěr silnější s tóny exotického ovoce a kouře
A nice golden brown amber with a nose consisting of pineapple, burnt sugar, leather, raisins, wooden lacquer and oak. A little bit accidic in the nostrils.
Taste: medium bodied with limited sweetness and notes of bitter dark chocolate, raisins, a hint of caramel perhaps, leather and oak. Its medium tannic and a bit spicy on the finish with a tingling sensation in the cheeks. The balance and alcohol is decently integrated. It might not be a fantastic rum but snag one when it’s on sale.
I was surprised to find a twist-off for an item that is marketed as a premium rum. Dark amber color, with a nose of sherry. Slightly sweet, smooth on the tongue, with a slight backbite on the finish. Overall very nice.
I expected much more flavour and body, a bit bouring and really nothing special, may be good for a nice Cuba libre!?
I ordered this through the internet. They didn't state this rum has a screw on cap like your rack liquor does. I expected a finely aged rum for the $50. What I got was total misrepresentation period. First thing I noticed was the screw on cap. Then, I could tell by the first sip it was 90% 5yr old and 10% mixed. Complete garbage. Then I decided to search the internet and see if sugar cane is still an item in St. Lucia since this is suppose to be a product of St. Lucua. The answer, in REAL small quantities, so NO! So, where is this rum really from? Its got marketing all over it and authenticity absent. This bottle will obtain major shelf life in your liquor cabinet, trust me. Don't waste your money like I did. Go for the best bank for your $$$. ElDorado.
Very dark reddish amber. Aromas of molasses, some hazelnut and dried fruits. In mouth, vanilla, honey/caramel, leather and oak notes dominate. A tiny bit of an alcohol bite but it was fine to drink neat nonetheless - it is a fairly dry rum though. There is a short finish with mostly toasted notes. A medium-bodied rum, dry but arguably not a biting bone-dry flavour because of how it's evenly balanced. I found it quite nice.
All in all, I would settle for somewhere around 7.5/10, which I'll settle on 8/10 for now as I do not find it much worse than many highly rated sweeter rums.
A forgotten cask due to fire in 2007. Could it be the reason why I find it smoky? Hmm just kidding.
Liquorice with coffee (vanilla coffee frappe). It does come with touch of smokiness and earthy. Fruity longan with fully ripen sweet pineapple. Chocolate bitter sweet.
Woody with dried fruits such as raisins. Fruitiness of pineapple jam and dried longan once sipped. Floral honey notes and tartness of lime which reminds me of Honeysuckle Daiquiri.
Charred wood finishing, dark chocolate with cranberry fillings. As if it been through Pedro Ximenez finishing but it doesn't last long.
