Kirk and Sweeney 23-Year

This was really tasty rum however I don't think I'll try this one again, since it is not for sale anymore. Replaced with lower quality rums.

Nicely balanced, pleasant taste - a must try. Although, after blind tasting together with Abuelo XV family and some Oliver products - had to lower the score to 8 from the initial 9.

Tasted at Laka Lono 4/17/22, Easter Sunday, after a 12 hour work day. Rum 1 of 3.
This rum comes in hot but then dies down.

Dobry balans pomiędzy wyrazistością alkoholu w rumie a słodyczą. Niższa ocena bo w tej cenie (289 zł) można dostać lepsze lub niewiele gorsze rumy.

My first bottle of this 23 was excellent. I couldn’t wait to get another. Unfortunately, the second bottle was harsh and very acidic. Nowhere near as enjoyable as the first.
My third bottle was a gift, and quite good.
I’ve since tried the 23 Gran Reserva thinking it might be the better of the three, but I was wrong. I much prefer the “good” bottles of the 23.
I’ve been told that the 23, the 23 Reserva, and the 23 Gran Reserva are all the same rum with different labels.

Medium mahogany color, nose is light, vanilla and oak on the pallet, a nice tart chew and. Zesty if strong finish.

On the nose there is a strong scent of vanilla mixed with caramel. Followed by butterscotch and a little oak.
First sip has a strong oak taste, then vanilla and butterscotch that lingers. There was some burn on the tongue and not as smooth as I was hoping. Over all, this was best on the rocks.

Great value for the price. You will love this one neat or one the rocks
