It's a cool bottle with a decent rum. No burn and I would buy it again.
Its a good rum but not great. It's a bit harsh neat but with water or ice it tones it down. The bottle is a talking piece.
I almost didn't get to sip this. The glue that held the cap on the cork came off.
It's a little sharp. Not too aromatic. Mixed it with A&W right now, but when I logged on here I see there is a creme variety that would likely be much better.
Purchased a 3cl sample of the Reserve when purchasing a bottle of the 23 year old for Β£6.50 on Master of Malt.
Oak, fruit and spice on the nose. Rich caramel hue. Rich and fruity in the mouth and wonderfully smooth. Very nice!
As ones palate becomes more discerning over time I am not sure if my rating is fair so I want to reserve my judgement until I give it another try.
Tabak smaak, vlotte rum. Beetje in de trant van Varadero en dergelijke.
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

A fine Dominican rum that has a nice array of flavors. Upon opening the bottle a strong orange, pepper and butterscotch scent is apparent. The taste is also strong on the citrus side with wood, butterscotch and an alcohol burn going down.
If you add an ice cube and let it breathe, the flavor composition changes. Still orange peel, but chocolate bars come to mind with nuts, wood, warm baking spices and toffee creating an enjoyable composition. The heat is also subdued by the ice.
This rum has been aged in barrels but also is air tight steel vats, which, unfortunately doesn't offer the rum many benefits that would be achieved in wood barrels. But still aged for a considerable amount of time. Nice rum to enjoy neat!
