Tried some at the Manchester Rum Festival and got a little sample to take home. The sales rep said it was meant as a sipper but for me it doesn't stand out as a sipper in anyway. Heard its the base rum used for their spiced rum, which I liked a lot more.

Feel through the bourbon cask taste, and it is very necessary.

I really like this Rum. Yes, it is "young" and a bit firey to taste, but the flavour is there. Like a caramel flavoured Agricole.

This was given to me as a present. Nice dark amber color. Nose reveals hints of vanilla and caramel. It is much more mellow than I was expecting with very little after burn. Taste light molasses and doesn’t linger for too long.
Not a collectible but not a throw away neither.

My wife and I took a tour at The distillery and I was surprised with the selection and quality of the products they offered. The possibly one of the best US based manufacturer of rum.

I am always interested to try rums I have not heard of before. This is an American rum.
A little thin on the front end, developing sweetness slowly across the middle towards a not unpleasant bitterness later. No discernible tones other than caramel. Reasonable finish.
The distillery claims history but the rum doesn't reflect any experiential depth ... handed down from Grandad.
As I understand it, America has a single use barrel policy. Great for coopers ... but not so good if you are trying to develop more complex flavour. I recommend the proprietors spend a sabbatical with the Plantation Rum Company https://www.plantationrum.com . They really do seem to know how to make great rum out of the modest.

Annoing rum. Flavour added, nice bottle. For me, doesn’t matter but is supraestimate.

I was wary of this at first thinking that the label was cool but less than sophisticated. Great “anejo” taste and aged to the point of a good taste of scotch. Good price, I wished I had purchased more for sipping. This board is just so varied in tastes it is fascinating. While it appears there are polarized opinions we can all agree we enjoy rum! Cheers and G-d bless friends!

Sampled this rum with a variety of cocktail syrups at Cardiff Rum Festival on the weekend. It's ok and is comparable in flavour profile to the spiced version, much better as a mixer with cola. I probably wouldn't buy a bottle

Good rum, enjoyed with Coke. A little hot straight.
