Quorhum 12-Year

Deze Quorhum 12 viel eerst iets wat tegen door hem ten onrechte te vergelijken met de 30.
Uiteindelijk is dat een meer dan aanvaardbare rum, blij dat ie in mijn collectie staat. Zoet met zeker de vanillesmaak en een halflange afdronk.

De beaux arômes de tabac et de canne à sucre. Pas trop sucré et long en bouche

Po Presidente Marti skúšam druhý brand dominikánskeho koncernu Oliver & Oliver. Fľaša zaujímavá - z ťažkého skla, svojský design. Vôňa je veľmi príjemná, nasládla. V chuti dominuje karamel, dub a vanilka, rum je skôr sladší. Avšak s dosť kratším koncom a trochu neotesaný, čo potvrdzuje, že sa jedná o najmenej vyzretý zo série ponúkaných rumov tejto značky. Mám pocit, že podobných rumov som pil už viac, tento ničím nevybočuje z radu. No potenciál tu je, takže si už dávam do wishlistu jeho 15-ročného súrodenca. Rating zohľadňuje trochu vyššiu cenovku, na rovnako drahé Diplomatico RE sa rozhodne nechytá. Staršie ročníky sú však len o pár eur drahšie, takže tam očakávam o dosť lepší pomer cena/výkon.

Now this is good. It has a dried raisin, chocolate, almost creamy taste. And the aftertaste is fantastic.

This one have similar character like other Quorhum rums - warm, smooth and dark. But in case of 12y version there is no body, no complexity and also some tones feels unnatural. Higher level of sugar is trying to cover all these weaknesses, but only makes it worse.
15y you can find for a very close price and is a bit better. If you can, buy 23y or 30y and you will be more happy :-)

Has a similar taste and colour to the Doorly's 12 year old, but it's way less characteristic and feels more artificial. Also the added sugar is definitely present in the taste, which I definitely don't prefer. It's not too harsh and is easily consumable, but there are way better similar rums out there in the price range. The marketing and the optics are better than the rum itself. It was nice to try, but I probably won't buy another bottle.
