Delicious rum with light cocoa taste. Winderful is straight with coke.
Wow a lot different from Don Papa original. Lots of flavour. It's fruity. But 10 years old?
Very sweet but very good. Normally I prefer drier rums but this one is really good. It is sweet but strong and full of flavor...
Much better and more complex than 7y. Similar aroma but not so sweet and more complex taste, heavy body with more layers. Long and warm aftertaste. Bit overpriced.
43° strong, good, typical Don Papa, still sweet with candied fruits, Vanilla, uninterchangeable. I like the full taste.
If you like sweet rum, you will find Don Papa 10YO great.
Sugar+vanilla and very soft aftertaste. I don't believe that it is true 10YO rum, but taste really impressed me.
Taste 6/10. More original & better in taste than small batch but strange dont like it not well blended some sweetnes (not overly), not much burn but also nothing intresting here & very expensive for its price.
Is it very good? Yes. Is it excellent? No. Is the taste worth approx. 4 times more money spent on the bottle than regular Don Papa? No. Smooth taste with traces of citrus fruit. Verdict, including price to quality ratio: 70%.
I tested original Don Papa like a year ago. I dont remember the taste of it but I remember it wasnt anything special. Ten years old version is far better but still has a lot space to grow in quality. In Czech Republic you can get a bottle of 10yo for over 150USD and I dont really think this rum is worth of that money.
Bottle: Original Don Papa had a nice bottle and 10yo is almost the same, just in different colors. Its kinda pretty, but no original idea here.
Color: semi-dark with notes of melted gold.
Smell: I can smell some spice from Don Papa yet I am not sure about which it is. I smell some raisins and vanilla. There is almost no trace of alcohol smell at all, because its killed with sweetness. You can smell caramel as well
Taste: When you put Don Papa into a glass you can see its very sweet from how the liquid moves in the glass. And yes, it is very sweet. And also very smooth. It has very light traces of alcohol, but what you can taste most is caramel, raisins and sweetness in general. Some kind of dried fruit and thats all.
Don Papa 10yo is not bad. I wouldnt refuse it if it was offered to my to drink, but definitelly not buying a bottle of my own.
Big step up for me from the ordinary Don Papa. Not keen on the aroma of the normal Don Papa but this is better and it has a dinstinctive flavour. Good sipper.
The smell is very strong butterscotch and also very alcoholic. The taste is a nice mixture of vanilla and butterscotch and is spoiled just a little bit by the strong smell of alcohol. Overall, very smooth and enjoyable
Very very good rum, this one is for me the best reference for begin to appreciate the first rum you taste
Cola taste and lot of sugar, far from what a Rhumshould be...dont believe i will order it again or buy a bottle ever..
Very dark,Orange, cannella, garofano, vin brulee, sangria.
The 10years is very smooth and pleasant to drink
. Wir werden sehen..
Black cherries. Cola. Bubblegum. Artificial coloring. Added sugar. Pretty expensive for the quality.
Nice, sweet but not great. Good for the first bottle or to mix. Has no body.
I've tried it on Rum Festival 2017 in Berlin. Better than the "standard" Don Pappa - still sweet (less than the standard) and straight forward aroma.
Old version of the classic Don Papa. If you like the classic, you will appreciate all the more the 10 years.
I love the original Don Papa. I know a lot of serious rum enthusiasts will complain that it's not a "real" rum, but god damn its good and sweet and perfect with ice. So I decided the 10-year version must be even better, and bought it. Well, what a disappointment. For the huge price tag, the only great thing about this is the fancy looking bottle. The rum itself is okay, not terrible, but nothing to write home about either. I won't be buying another bottle that's for sure. Stick to the original bottle, it's much better.
