Nice fruity aroma. Taste is smooth and complex - fruity, typical agricole tones, ending in long pleasant aftertaste. Very good aged agricole rum, but a bit overpriced (170Eur) Try if you can.

Opened up this bottle after sometimes...good marketing outside with charmy wooden case and leaflet inside reassuming the history of the House.
First thing to notice: the oak is here potent and shameless; if you like those wines it will recall
Colour: copper to amber
Nose: spices and lemongrass at the very end; green garden
Palate: oak, honey, papaya at the beginning; long finish with banana and cane sugar; cask at the very end.
In a blind tasting you’d get the agricole core at once, though it is 70% well rounded at the end
What to say: a good embrace at the end of the day

1998 is the best year for rum, some brands like HSE, JM, Bally and many others have released exceptional rum. Saint James made several bottling of this 1998 in 2009 and 2016 from several barrels. Mine is a 2016, was 805-12-98. the colour is copper with gold highlights. The nose is on citrus fruits, exotic fruits, mango, banana. The vegetal side is discreet, sugar cane is there but far enough. Beautiful greedy note of brown sugar, it's sweet, round. On the palate, it is very sweet, greedy, the woody makes its appearance and also the spices with subtle notes of cinnamon. Nice length in the mouth, it is very soft, delicate. Curious to taste the other casks

I do not like this rum very much.
For me it is quite strong. But if you collecting rum like me this is a rum whitch nearly double the value in two years.

Rekommenderas starkt!!
