A good spicy middle of the road rum. I would buy again
The best spiced rum I have had. You get some sweetness and some spice / cinnamon with out it tasting artificial like some. I would bet the base spirit is more mature than most. It also does a nice job of staying balance for a spiced rum.
Dobrý koreneny rum s hnědo-červenou barvou.
V chuti i vůni spousta kořeni ( hřebíček, skořice, muskatovy oříšek…) a pak citrusy - pro mě hlavně pomerancova kůra
One of the top selections in this expense category for spiced rums
Still very enjoyable especially with a Saxbys ginger beer and a slice of lime..
Lovely copper / mahogany colour in the glass , first aroma is cloves which im not a fan of , followed by cinnamon , vanilla etc.. tastes fine sipped neat , just a bit sweet and syrupy.
Better with ice and even better as a rum & ginger..
Doesn't compete with Rumbullion , Redleg , Untold or Cargo Cult imho.. not a re-buy but I will enjoy the rest of the bottle !
This is extremely Christmassy. You can taste and smell Christmas cake in it at every moment and for some time after you've drank it. Whether this is to an individual's taste would be highly variable. It depends what your tolerance is for heavy sweetness and the unusual.
I'd say that it was good for a tipple over the Christmas period. Actually, if I'm honest, I'd sometimes prefer a really good sherry for that, but this is decent and a change.
I'm giving it a 7 rather than a 6, because I think it deserves an extra point for making a bold and memorable statement.
If you like the sweeter and spicier end of rums, I'd personally say that Dark Matter was better and more subtle as well as being more suitable away from the Festive Season - but this too is very much a debatable point according to subjective taste.
Another similarly wintery one to this is Rumbullion - but that one is a little more subtle, less complex and has a spicey-orange flavour.
A déguster en digestif ou alors bien frais avec du Cola. Il fait bien son travail de spiced rhum
Well balanced flavours in this spiced rum you can taste the oak as well as spice. Perfect with coke and ice and for £20 It's a steal
My spouse felt in love to one of them instantly... After first sip she has confiscated the bottle )) and has declared that is lovely Ratu from Fiji . The thing is the spice, likely cinammon which is dominant in the flavor and slightly in aroma.
If there's special subcategory then Spiced scores 10. If compared to his older brother - score 7.
And here it is Admiral Rodney. One of the best. Complex, rich and long lasting. Wish to try all the flotilla commanded by this admiral.
"is infused with cinnamon, clove, nutmeg, vanilla"
"Chairman's Reserve Spiced rum review by The Fat Rum Pirate"
It has quite a forward cinnamon aroma.
"Its pretty smooth and doesn’t give much burn beyond the cinnamon kick. It’s not very rough it has a fairly pleasant burn."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

Lime smell, small spiced, not so sharp with alcohol, very smooth, I like it. Tasted in Ohana Dublin Tiki Bar
