No where near the quality of the 2003. This is much more alcoholic, has the aroma, but not the taste and deepth as the 2003. As long as you can get the 2003 - try it. The best plantation rum made - In my humble opinion,

Did not like this one at all. Very oily, tastes fishy to me.

I found it a bit sharp. Had a floral and fruit nose but lacked depth in body.

Beautiful golden amber in the glass. Without additives.
In the nose, strong almost brutally. Like on a smoky wood glued withered flowers, the glue still smells quite fresh.
In the palate, no compromises, your tongue is nailed to a burnt wooden board covered with vanilla and caramel. Herb, coarse, without sweetness.
In the finish, as in an old, smoky bar and all the aromas swing beautifully long after.
A very difficult rum for advanced, not my favorite, too close to the whiskey, very complex.
Not for all days but a nice change to all the sweet plantation rum.
