In the glass: cola. On the nose: careful wafting reveals fruit forward, some coffee, burnt sugar. On the palate: sweet but a bit strong for standalone tasting. With some water, chocolate, coffee, caramel with some dark fruit. Medium finish with a little bitterness. Really stands up in cocktails.

I wouldโ€™ve guessed this was at least 20 proof points lower than what it is. A lot of the same flavors as the 86, with tobacco, cherry, and some vanilla dominating. Makes a great (although dangerously easy) sipper, but the flavors come even more alive with a little ice or water added.

The only reason this doesn't get a 10 is because I am not a really a fan of overproofs. That said this is by far the smoothest, most amazing overproof rum I have ever had. It has the same notes as its less powerful sibling but in full force with chest warming intensity. Baby sips with this one because it clocks in at 75.5% ABV, but man does each tiny sip pack a wallop of pure unadulterated Demerara flavor. Lots of brown sugar, smoke, burnt caramel, cola, dark chocolate, and molasses flavors. If you want the specifics read my review of the 86 proof...now imagine all of those attributes dialed to 10. It is a power punch of intense brown sugar, cola, burnt caramel, and dark choclately goodness - but with less oak characteristics than the dilution. There is slightly more dark chocolate and molasses bitterness on the finish than the 86, plus a slight cigar tobacco touch that does not come through on the 86. This is the only overproof I think I would ever even remotely consider drinking neat...and that says something about the quality and attributes of this rum. Overall, the power of the flavor profile comes through just a little more on this than the 86 and I wish that was something I could get on the 86 but what are your going to do. Absolutely excellent! At $29 a bottle and the fact that you can literally make 2 full bottles of the 86 from this, or not, however you choose to drink it, this is phenomenal value for a pure, untouched, original cask strength Demerara.

Chocolate hits the nape straight away and that demera delight ... Typical notes of demera on the nose ... Heaven scents of butterscotch...

Taste is that typical oak smokiness that is divine wow such a delight to drink.. I only had a small dram so didn't cocktail this but man the UK needs to import this ...

Beautiful deep amber color. Warm vanilla aroma with a slight sourness. Lots of Caramel flavor, with a burnt sugar taste on the finish. Thereโ€™s some maple flavor in there as well, and just a hint of lemon. Very warm going down.

Must have.
Mix up some zombies with this magic potion floating on top.
End the evening with a little bit served neat.
Youโ€™ll go to bed with a warm heart.

Hamilton Guyana 151 is great over crushed ice, in a swizzle, or Zombie. Hard hitting notes of Demerara sugar, raisin, nutmeg, cinnamon, booze, and a little oak in the back.

This one will get you into trouble.

Brown sugar, toffee and molasses with a note of star anise. This is a beautiful, hot rum. However, it doesn't have the explosive flavor of Lemon Hart, so it doesn't stay on my shelf to mix with. I've been using this as my high-proof rum to make my own Allspice Dram and it's excellent for that.
