Delaware Distilling Company Spiced

Great local rum. Very spicy flavor tastes like Christmas in a glass. Spiced cookies or cake

I like DDC, solid craft distillery but I should have found their regular rums before trying the spiced rum as I'm not a fan of spiced rum in general. But this one is different than many and I think some may find this rum interesting.

Bottle: Traditional style, good label, interesting information.
Color: Light yellow brown, typical of the genre.
Bottle Smell: Spice is immediate, rum hidden, clove, cinnamon, several smells that blend well and remind of an Xmas dessert.
Glass Smell: Light rum odor that makes the spices blend better than when just in the bottle.
Taste: Light heat with oils that hide the spices initially allowing them to come through in the nose slowly, taste remains true to the initial smell, heat begins in the throat, not overly sweet, balanced spices but perhaps a little over done.

Overall this is a good rum, better than any mid-tier shelf rum and a good show by a craft distiller. If you like spiced rum, this is a good one to try.
