If youre looking to get drunk enough to call an ex girlfriend when drinking alone in your dorm, this is the rum for you. 9 Dollars for a bottle and a world of regret the next day...how can you go wrong?
Very syrupy and doesnโt hold up to a good quality rum in todays standard of quality products.
Saw a mini of this in a booze store while buying beer in Rincon. Picked one up for the tick of it. A little coconut, vanilla. Tastes like a low effort Cuba Libra waiting to happen--you'll still need the lime. Didn't get around to drinking it till back in San Juan.
Our all time favorite mixing rum when we are in Puerto Rico. Our everyday rum.
Great if you enjoy cocktails that provide the โflavorโ of rum while drinking it. I typically sip this neat as I enjoy Puerto Rican rum in general. I always buy this when in PR. Will go great in a daiquiri or mixed with coke. One of the few rums I consider to be an authentic PR rum. Hints of sweet, alcohol, sugar, earth.
Not a huge performer but isn't the worst I've had either.
I was told this is hard to get on the mainland and is what the locals drink during the holidays. After all Done Q and Bacardi can be found in every liquor store. There is no discernable nose that I can find. There is a burn on the sides of your tongue and back of your throat. This one would be kept as a mixer or for people who don't appreciate rum!
Basic, with a bit of a burn after a shwill. This should be your cheap rum if you can't find Don Q Cristal.
white Palo Viejo is a good everyday rum for parties and happy hours. It blends well with fruit juices and coca cola with lime and we enjoy it to help digestion after a high calorie meal during the holidays
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

Decent white for mixing at a great price.

I paid around $10 for a liter bottle. This one doesn't have the taste or complexity of some of the better ones like El Dorado 3 yr or Denizen, but it is quite serviceable as an inexpensive mixer.
