Rum tasting in Tallinn with my good old friend continued with Pott 54 Rum. Boring bottle and label design. Golden color. Pure alcohol with plenty of caramel and spice mixture to the nose and palate when neat sipped. Strong and nasty burn at the end.
The higher alcohol version of Pott 40. Aromatic enough to use it for Feuerzangenbowle or other flambé.
This rum is usually mixed with tea, etc. Out of curiosity it took it straight. Nice nosing with aroma of citrus fruits, spice and caramel. But the palate is extremely spicy and accompanied with a sharp burn. Finish is also short and still sharp. In my view not the kind of rum you might enjoy straight in the evenings. But very suitable for mixing purposes.
Nice colour and aroma but sharp taste. Ages very well though.
Lekkere rum om te mixen, wel erg sterk maar vol van smaak
The aroma is good, but the taste doesn't match, another but, I think this could be a grower. Time will tell
Gut um zu mixen oder für Feuerzangenbowle. Nicht wirklich zum pur trinken!
Starker Rum für alle Arten von Heizgetränken. Für Eisbrecher und Co ganz okay
The nose is full of citrus tones.. Down to a faded caramel.
The taste is strong, and full of citrus tones.. And peppery almost like there is chilis added..
The finish is also stong but fades over to pure alcohol.. Which i hate.. But it´s a rum.. No question about it.
