Here we have a 3 year old Fiji Pot Still Rum. Bottles at 57.2%, an excellent decision.
Smell: A good smell of Fijian pot and column still flavors greets me. I can clearly smell the Fiji profile here. It's salty, I smell olives, pickled vegetables, oil and some pineapple. He is a bit musty at the beginning and has to breathe a little. Some aromas of sweet biscuits can be smelled far in the background. The smell is unfortunately not very complex, but still good for Fiji lovers and surprises me at this price.
Taste: It starts out very oily, wets the whole mouth, also salty like in the nose. Some dried fruit comes up (pineapple) with a light sweetness in combination with the typical vegetables. Slight bitterness of tannins rises, light wood and vanilla. The spice increases, it tingels on the tongue a little.
The finish already occurs in connection with the oil, the vegetables, very slightly dried fruit.
It's long with spiciness and oily notes.
Aftertaste: pineapple, vegetables, tannins, bright wood
Conclusion: Holy Moly, I have to say WOW for not expecting anything at all.
I would not have expected such an oily and sedate rum at this price. There really was a decent pot still rum filled. For me, that's Smith & Cross level. This is a great bargain for Fiji lovers.
Overall rating: 85 points

This rum, will kick your ass if you're drinking straight! The trick is to use demineralised water.. it opens up all the hidden notes and tones
Youthful potstill, lots of fruit on the nose. Fiery at first, then coffe and dark chocolate. Will definetly buy another bottle if i find one.
