There are 2 versions now.... old version (23 years solera) is balance rum in the sweeter side with complecity and well aged in bourbon barrels... taste reminds me Zacapa XO new version but with little bit boost of alcohol-fire taste & caramel-butterscot taste (sweeter) & without zacapa herbs-botanicals. Powerful and sweet! Not for beginners becase it is little bit strong taste of alcohol & wood (bitter) but not really dry it has a lot sweetness but with great balance for my taste. A bit different from other Oliver rums but it has some similarities. A very good sweet rum but it has little more caramel or something for my taste. Dont get me wrong overall it is really great just not my favorite but close...
Second version is solera from 12 to 15 years, double aging bourbon and cognac oak make it smoother less woody-bitter & more complex. Also it is more fruity, spicey with velvet ending! Overal both of them are close with some differences... from one side new version has milder taste & intresting flavour, but from other side old version is little bit more mature & intense! For me both of them are very good with a small edge to old version...
Vanilla and brown sugar, with a slight alcohol burn.
Oliver & Oliver taste, but not too strong.
Nice rum.
Has some sweetness to it, melasses, burnt sugar and maybe some banana leaves. Its a good rum but somewhat anonymous, no real signature to separate it from the rest.
Fin sødlig duft - men der sker ikke så meget i munden. Ron Esclavo XO Cask er langt bedre og mere kraftfuld
Nice smooth rum. However, I dont quite remember it after some time.
Ok sipper, good mixer. But for that price - terrible for both.
On the nose you get sweet aromas of vanilla and fruit. When the rum have been breathing for a while in the glass the aromas gets even smoother.
In mouth you get smooth flavours of vanilla and caramel. You can also taste a bit of oak and spice. This rum is very sweet, in a good way. The aftertaste is very smooth with a little bit of oak and spice.
I nice rum but maybe a little bit of too much oak for my taste.
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

Solera on the sweeter side is normal, but this one manages to be more smooth than other, which adds some drinkability to this bottle.
Nose: Vanilla, burnt suger and some minor hints of prunes and wood
Taste: Caramel, raisins, some roasted oak and a slight aftertaste of coffee.
Overall: A good sweet solera rum that would have been near perfection if it wasn´t watered down to 42abv
