Thanks to great PR, this is the rum laymen associate with the word "rum". It's not the worst thing out there, but really a mid-tier spiced rum and a low-tier of all rums. As far as taste, it's got hefty vanilla notes and a sweetness that pairs with cola. It'll always have fans that associate it with a young adult memory, but if you can do better, it's hard to look back.

This is the rum that introduced me to the wide variety that there is available. This rum is a great one to keep in the cabinet to share with visitors or people who may not know better. I would not drink this straight and enjoy it with coke. Generally though if I see another option available in the bar or cabinet I would usually sooner choose the other.

Yeah, stay away from this one... unless your other option is Bacardi. There are much be et ter spiced rums out there.

This was my first rum for drinking straight and in mixed drinks. Develop a taste for this rum first and then start exploring other types.
