Captain Morgan Spiced Rum is made by combining yeasts, molasses, water and mash, which are then distilled in a continuous still. The rum is aged for up to 1 year followed by the addition of spices and flavors indigenous to the Caribbean Islands.
Captain Morgan Spiced is owned by Diageo and produced in Puerto Rico by the famous Destilieria Serralles, Inc. The company Captain Morgan is named after the 17th-century Welsh privateer of the Caribbean, Sir Henry Morgan was an admiral in the Royal British Navy who earned a knighthood in 1674.

I am rating this rum not as "sip rum", but rum for mixing. As a sip, I would rate it about 4. But I really like it woth cola and lime. Thats what is it for. But I like Bacardi a little bit more.
This rum is perfect with a coke in a classic Cuba Libre, but nothing more than that. It is really better than the white rums from CM, Bacardi or Havana club.
Perfect for a quick tipple and a enjoyable one at that. Heavy on the spice - in a good way - plenty of ice and a splash of coke finish it off nicely.
Not a sipping rum but at its price most would not expect it to be!
This is the ru I would normally drink as its a nice flavoured rum at a reasonable price
this rum is the one i would normally drink as it is a nice flavoured rum at a reasonable price.
The only good thing about Captain Morgan is what it did for the rum business. The flavor is just watery and it's only palatable when mixed with a soda.
If you need something that everyone can use to mix, this is probably your go to rum. Everyone knows what the captain has to offer, and if you do not, at least try it. Once you figure out that it can get a little pricey in some areas, try Shellback rum. It tastes better, and is a few dollars cheaper. I would suggest trying this with Sprite or Coke. Either way works.
Probably only okay in large well liked mixed drinks pretty horrible otherwise
What can i say....2 litters of coke or pepsi...A couple of limes. Let put some smiles on these faces.
The perfect wingman for coke

Recently tasted this straight, at room temp and the word "fuel" came to mind. While there are better choices for mixers, it is good with root beer... or better yet, mix with root beer schanpps and pour over vanilla ice cream. Update: this is now my second choice with root beer. The dark version is better.
