La verdad no esperaba mucho de este ron, sin embargo es un gran ron pensando en la relación de precio va sabor. Tiene la escénica de Barbados, un no tan dulce, ron seco con notas a caramelo.
Seale's Real McCoy 12yo and Seale 10yo are better rums, in my opinion, because the flavors sing in delicious harmony. This one, on the other hand, doesn't quite pull it all together. The flavors lack balance, and the result is less rich, less complex. Acetone in the finish is disappointing. It's a very good rum, to be sure, but that's the point: Mr. Seale has spoiled me so much that I expect a masterpiece from him every time I try a bottle from his magnificent ouevre. The price of genius, I suppose...
Great sipping rum that is less sweet. One of my favorites
I sip it slow and the flavors come out more and more as it breathes. Unbeatable value.
This rum is a blend of Bourbon bask and also Madeira cask. So, it has light and bright flover.
However, I think that aging by 100% Bourbon cask is a better for Barbados flover.
So, Mount Gay XO is better for me.
Really nice dry rum. Good when you want start with rums without added sugar. Flavours of vanilla, wood, orange and sugar cane. Very well balanced and smooth.
This is an excellent rum. Nothing overpowering and has wonderful complex flavors of dried fruit, with a touch of spice and a wonderful subtle butterscotch after taste. I prefer this one neat as it accentuates the flavors, but it's still great on the rocks. On the rocks hides the more complex flavors, but hightens the smooth butterscotch tones. All said and done my local total wine has this for $21. There is nothing in that price that can compare. In fact, I'd put this up against rums double the price and it would be right at home.
This untreated stuff has all I need.... impressive nose, incredible taste and the leaving.... what the f.... love it!
Another outstanding rum from the Foursquare stable.. The screwcap is a turn off but then everything onwards is excellent ! A nice amber colour in the glass , maybe a bit of caramel colouring ? Nice medium legs , no sugar sticking this to the glass ! On the nose , sherry and more sherry. Very fruity.. also slight caramel or toffee. On tasting , its very sherry heavy but in a good way. Slightly spicey , oak , little bit of vanilla. This is an excellent sipper , a lot better than the XO in my eyes. Makes an amazing Old Fashioned.. Worth 8.5
This one is bit better the XO for me. The 12 year is mostly hard to get so XO is a good choice when you do not have 12 year around...
Certainly not anything to write home about, but for 25 bucks, this will deliver and be a perfectly fine sipping rum. I'm in the minority and prefer a little sweeter rums, so this one has a bit more of a burn and less smooth, but still very drinkable.
What a solid pour! Just fantastic. Love just about everything Mr Steale is doing. This is no exception. Found the 12 year to be a great transition from whiskey. Same oaky, vanilla notes. Citrous and spice near the end. Very well balanced. Feel fortunate to have Total Wine's close that keep this well stocked. This has become our benchmark for a solid, affordable and obtainable sipping rum.
It is just an amazing rum! Barbadian rum is definitely my top rum destination. Classic banana flavor, slightly sweet and with an oaky taste. Aftertaste is a little bit spicy. The aroma is just great. Oh, and is cheap!
Overall this is a good sipping rum. Nice inviting aroma, not over sweet and smooth. Not too strong on the front end but does have a slight unpleasant lingering taste. For the price it is a good choice for people to try. Good for new rum drinkers. It just needs a little more flavor and depth to bring it up to the next level.
For the price (around £38) this is an excellent sipping rum. Not overly sweet with a nice balanced nose and taste.
Ottimo esponente selle Barbados, Rum maledettamente valido
12 Jahre im Holzfass merkt man ihm gut an, er hat eine feine Eichennote und etwas fruchtige Aromen.
Another R.L. Seales fine Rum.
I have the XO, 8, and this 12yo.
They get better as you climb up.
NO additives (dosing).
There now is a 14yo Through Whiskey Exchange in the U.K.
On my wish list
Drier rum with lot of tones. Single casked unique character, thanks to mr. Seale untouched with any additives. Suited more for experienced rum lovers, but not bad choice for others too.

You really need to rest this one (20 minutes should do the trick), before you drink it. At first it has that strong alcohol smell and even aftertaste. But after you relax it, it is a very very smooth rum. Great if you are planning to have few glasses, because it is incredibly easy to drink. Just dont expect that taste punch. It will never come. It is a decent rum, but its main advantage is just how easy you can drink it. No obstructions on its way. Just let it rest after you pour it.
smooth, supple, and full of flavor. this rum needs nothing.
The pot still brings complexity, depth and weight, whilst the column still brings a balance of aroma and flavour. Doorly’s 12 Year Old Rum is a blend of rums, 90% aged for 12 years in Kentucky Bourbon and 10% aged for 12 years in Madeira cask. This rum is an exceptional molasses sipping rum for slightly less cost than the Four Square 2005 variety. Both deserve a taste.
secondary aging in oak sherry casks. Very smooth, pleasant aroma, medium complexity. Mildly sweet, not dry, you can taste the sugars, and the sherry cask comes through in good balance. Very scotch-like. 85+
