Doorly's ABV43 12-Year

Have had a bottle of this on hand for a few months and have sipped it as well as mixed it.

When sipped neat, the nose is subdued, and has a slight smokiness to it.

Taste is a tad bitter & the wood from the aging process comes through well. Everything here is delicate and there isn't an off flavor. Not very sweet & on the drier side. Good example of a Barbados rum: no nonsense here!

When mixed, as with other Barbados rums, I've generally found this one to be lacking in character. It doesn't make bad cocktails but the rum isn't going to be the star of the show in a tiki drink.

It's worth mentioning that here in the Bay Area you can purchase this rum for $24 at Total Wine, which is absurd for a rum of this quality. Doorly's has some fantastic value out there.

Z dane trojice vzorku pro mě asi nejtypičtější rum. Opět ovocná vůně, v chuti zase ovocem s nádechem vanilka a dřeva. Příjemný hrejivy dojezd.
8 je za mě více jemná v chuti. K oběma se ale rad vrátím.

At first sip on a freshly opened bottle I wasn't impressed. But the more I sipped it and the more it breathed the more I enjoyed it. Great flavors and finish. The spices, caramel and banana blend well.

This rum is perfect for sipping. Warms up and leaves pleasant aftertaste. Lightly sweet, but not artificially sweetened. Oak, molases, caramel, full bodied rum. For the price it is truly great!

This rum is smooth and sweet. Great complex flavors.

Typical Barbados rum, dry, smooth, minimal afterburn. In addition nice brown color. It is a must for less sweet rum lovers.

Inexpensive, great on its own or in mixed drinks, makes the perfect corn n oil. This is the one that made me love anything foursquare.

Very easy gentle rum. I drink my rum 50:50 with water and this one just slips away nicely. Quite light with a longish whisky note on the finish. Worth the £’s
