Captain Morgan Dark

Whenever I'm really broke this is what I bring home because I know it's reliable without being outstanding. If you're new to dark / black rums this would be an excellent gateway drink whilst not breaking the bank. The taste is quite complex with plenty of spice but lacks the refinement that one expects in a more prestigious product. A little blob of honey at the bottom of your glass makes an appreciable difference if you prefer things a little sweeter.

Only real use is to use as a cheap mixer. Although there's more solid choices in the same price range.

Bad taste, never drink this neat, even in a cocktail I don't like it

A good mixer, hardly consumable as a sipper, but I still have some (un)memorable nights with it. Great way to get wasted at parties where people are not pretentious and quality is not a must.

Full flavor, strong body and a smooth taste of caramel. Great with Coca Cola.

It is OK with coke or with a few drops of angustura cocoa bitter and some sugar syrope added. But alone I do not like it.

No point torturing oneself with sipping - just pour in coke. No aroma, pretty bad aftertaste.

It is hard to drink this solo, and too much smoked to drink with cola...

Standard dark rum quite like Bacardi dark rum not the best but ok
