Thanks so much for submitting a report. It has been emailed to the Rum Captain and will be actioned shortly.
Captain Morgan Dark rum is a blend of five different rums from Jamaica, Guyana and Barbados. The blended rum mixture is distilled in a two part process using both pot stills and continuous stills and then aged for 2 to 7 years in charred oak barrels.
Since 2011, the Captain Morgan rum brand has used the slogan ""To life, love and loot."
Syrup and (over) burnt sugar on the nose. Quite alright, actually! Taste is rough, aftertaste horrible. Glad I bought a 5cl bottle...
This is the Rum that started me on my Rum journey.
Sadly this is often the best rum to be found at local bars. It's pretty rough, but consumable with enough mixer. Some of this brands other offerings are palatable, but there are so many better choices for a couple dollars more. I would never purchase it at a store, but occasionally in a bar it's acceptable.
This stuff is rough. Its definitely a frat house rum with a frat house appeal. Just nasty
Sadly time, money and commercialization are putting the nails in its coffin for me which is so sad. I would gladly pay extra for an improved version of this
Pleasant and tasty rum.
Will do if nothing better is available. I find it over spiced and a bit harsh. No way can I drink this straight up or on the rocks, just to rough in my opinion. I find it mixes best with coke and is a bit to much for tonic.
Overused in the bar industry. Waterdown most of the time. Will do when nothing else is available.
To be honest I like sweet rums, doesn't matter if sipper or mixer, but this one is even for me too sweet.
As some have here already mentioned: good for cooking or with coke, but for me only one captain morgan+coke.
nice Flavour and drink it in a mix
Another spiced rum but dark
Hard strong taste, good if anything else is not around.
I prefer the deluxe which is a but sweeter but this is a reliable rum when you just want a dark rum and coke
Not a bad rum but could list many that are available I would choose ahead of it. Certainly not good enough to drunk without mixer
This rum is kinda popular with cola. It is too sweet for me and nothing else worth mentionning.
Good molasses taste!
In my opinion this only good for cooking or having coke added to it
Very nice with coke and ice in tall glass.
Its just that, a standard dark rum, thats been around forever n is now produced in mass amounts for the purpose of being sold in pubs with coke. Im not that into dark rums and only generally take em off the shelve to stick in a tiki style cocktail so for me they would be its only purposes...
