Captain Morgan Dark

This was my way back when i first tried rum. Thought it were a high end product, and then i tasted it. The overwhelming alcohol and lack og a character.. i cannot recomend. Sorry

Low price point reflects the quality. Could(and should) be used as a mixer. Not in sipping rum territory.

Poor rum, the cm dark spiced is way better.

Good for committing suicide, pleasing street bums or washing car rim's. Just don't bother otherwise.

Syrup and (over) burnt sugar on the nose. Quite alright, actually! Taste is rough, aftertaste horrible. Glad I bought a 5cl bottle...

Real rum is supposed to be drunk pure. But you should really skip this one because it will give you first-class heartburn.

It doesn't really smell like certain scents. You smell little sweetness. Tastes a bit like cinnamon. At first you taste Molasses and then a bitter taste. It's a bit of a hot taste and then it's just rancid and chemical.

For mixing, it's a lot better. Better than Bacardi Blanc. The only positive is that no sugar has been added but no doubt chemical flavour enhancers will have been added.

Goes with coke, overhyped mass produced brand, slightly better than regular cpt morgan, very spiced.

Only reviewing this because it needs to be improved or taken from pub shelves. Why do so many bars have this as their main dark rum option? I used to drink it in a tall glass three quarters full with coke. Didn't realise how sweet it was and didn't take notice of that sea foam froth it left behind. Stuff you drink in your 20s when you don't care. Wasn't long before I moved on from this to Jameson and coke, much better quality and taste for the same price. I'm turning into and OAP rum snob because of all these rum reviews and want for a finer rum, but besides that, it's fair comment that I won't drink this swill anymore. We're done Capn, it's over.
