I would use this rum if my lawn mower ran out of gas... Totally undrinkable.
Visited Nassau last year with a colleague of mine and we wondered to the John Watling's Distillery by accident. It is the only distillery in Nassau and the distillery tour itself is definitely worth the effort. At the end of the tour there is a tasting of their 3 main rums and the Single Barrel for a tiny extra fee. The John Watling's Pale has to be mixed with a soft drink. The flavor is very off putting as a neat sipper and the burn is very intense.
I was hoping for much more. Did not find it. Maybe in time.
Appears clear upon initial glance, but the pale blonde is noticeable upon closer inspection holding it up to the light. Fairly one-note, at least for my palate, but still smooth and clean. One of the three they offer for their tasting flight, so worth trying if you're exploring the distillery in Nassau. Just not one that I would rush to buy on its own.
