Bon, mais dans le meilleur black spiced est le krakken
Nice spiced. I like it straight but could be good with coke.
It's ok, the spices are quite good, but I still prefer the regular Captain Morgan
I have a very old version of this which is why when I mix with coke it seems like a sin but in truth it's never going be subtle on the rocks.....
Oh well. Probably because of addition to the name I was expecting something more. But after all it's just coffee with (not so visible) voltage. Sigh...
Kraken style ....
Not much better than the original. This time they added some molasses, slapped an octopus for good luck, and marketed away. Better spiced rums around.
I like a good spiced rum and I find I enjoy a good dark rum as well. Some of the mor popular offerings one will find on the shelf call themselves black or dark but to me they are too light. This however is dark and holds its own against its competitors. The Captain tends to get bashed in these forums, yet still seems to be the litmus test. I have taste tested this one against several others and it always seems to rise to the top for me. This is my personal go to rum. The bottle is fun too, I think it really is the ghost of Rumn Past.
The Captain's answer to The Kracken. A black spiced rum with a little character to show for itself, but nothing uber-special. I only give it a 6 because of its lack of originality. Having said that, if someone offered me a free drink of this stuff, I wouldn't be rude and push it away, LOL. Just not something I'd go out of my way to buy again, is all.
The aroma in the bottle is acceptable. Nothing outstanding.
Sampling some straight reveals a strong mix of indeterminate spices. However whatever the spices are the aftertaste is bitter and unpleasant. Definitely needs to be drowned in cola. But there are many other spiced rums that are readily available that are much better quality.
"vanilla flavour is there but is mixed with a little Black Cherry and caramel"

"rich clove spice and premium cassia bark"
"Captain Morgan Black Spiced rum review by the Ultimate Rum Guide"
There is a little hint of clove and nutmeg present on the nose as well but predominantly it is sweet vanilla. .
"This is a very sweet drink. The rum burns a little on exit but after a few sips the burn subsides. There is a little hint of oaked ageing in the aftertaste."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

Bit flat, but not unpleasant

Significantly more refined than Captain Dark, sippable. In coke it seems a bit lost. If anything, it resembles Kraken, but has a tad less sugar. On the nose it is vanilla, spices, the taste The taste itself is not complicated, vanilla, caramel, the aftertaste is shortish but pleasant, with a hint of oak. Not actually bad for the money.
