I have a heavy heart. i went to get my rum and was told that they are discontinuing it. I have been drinking this for over 10 years. This is the BEST Capt Morgan I ever had. It has a nice smooth taste and they need to keep this black rum. PLEASE do not make me have to switch. The regulr Capt and Private stock do nothing for me. PLEASE Keep this rum.
One of the first brand that i drank. Not bad at all. Soft, sweet, herbal. Not a good combo with coke
I shall be honest. It has not been many years since I've started buying/drinking and enjoying rum. I feel like a child who found new toys.
This rum feels great to mix with coke. It is also fine drinking as it is. It is very smooth if you sip small amounts at a time. This is my fourth rum I've ever purchased. It is fine. As a beginner I could easily recommend this to other beginners who wants some spice in their rumlife.
Was given this as a gift, and I must say I was surprised by it. I saw some reviews saying it was better than Kraken, and I'd have to agree, not by a distance, but definitely edges it.
Very spiced and tasty. Sweet and dark. Good finish
Personally I wouldn't recommend it straight, but mix in with some coke and there's a reason it's a classic.
Nice, spicy rum... Very heavy on the aromas, which overrules the taste sometimes... More wintery
A good black spiced rum. A very good aroma. Better than Jamaican Rum version.
Saturday is Rum Day.
I first tried this rum with soda and lime, way too fruity. Next I tried it with soda and it was still sweet with a strong taste of vanilla. I havenβt tried this rum with coke, it would be very sweet. As the ice melted, the Black Spiced became very tolerable and not as sweet as it was at first.
"vanilla flavour is there but is mixed with a little Black Cherry and caramel"

"rich clove spice and premium cassia bark"
"Captain Morgan Black Spiced rum review by the Ultimate Rum Guide"
There is a little hint of clove and nutmeg present on the nose as well but predominantly it is sweet vanilla. .
"This is a very sweet drink. The rum burns a little on exit but after a few sips the burn subsides. There is a little hint of oaked ageing in the aftertaste."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

McDonald's would do the same. As others have said very similar to Kraken. Just a mass production take on things. Lots of vanilla and certainly a lot of sugar. Will do as a mixer and that's about it. But Hey it's alcohol so drink up.
