Captain Morgan Black Spiced

Similarly to Kraken, it is meant to be mixed. However, acceptable also neat or on the rocks. Very pleasant just with ice and slice of orange.
If I had to pick one - Kraken would be my choice.

Update: score drops to 4, I'm not gonna touch Captain Morgan brand anymore.

CPT Morgan black spiced extremely similar to Kraken rum. It dose smell great with a more vanilla hint than Kraken. For me, it is very strong and made for sipping; great for mixing. You definitely taste vanilla and spices, but it leaves you with a burn on your throat. Ok, but not great..

This is Captain Morgan's response to Kraken and while it's better than the original Captain Morgan, it's still sub-par compared to Kraken, which itself, is only decent at best.

Après les goûts et les couleurs ça ne discute pas, mais quand même.
J'apprécie un rhum nature, sans glace et pour le coup, celui-ci n'est pas du tout adapté.

Taste is pretty bad neat but it makes a decent mixer. Kracken is good on both ends and priced similar so I usually prefer to go that direction.

First blackstrap rum i have tasted.
Nose: strong vanilla, cinnamon and licorice
Palate: very sweet, strong taste of vanilla, mix of spices, cinnamon and licorice, charred oakiness, light eucalyptus note.
Finish: Quite unpleasant burn and bitterness.
Overall: This is almost as sugared as spiced gold (which is horrible stuff) but thankfully this rum has enough of complexity and bold flavours that are not too artificial.
It is okay mixer rum.
Works well in cocktails like flips and as a tiki floater.

Nothing special but oke to drink with cola. For straight up this isn't my rum.

In Russia this drink is sold at 80 proof. After reading the reviews and looking at the rating, I realized that production wastes go to Russia again, as always. The whole essence of the drink sold in Russia is Coca-Cola with alcohol. Due to the composition of the spices, it smells like mulled wine. It tastes like sugar, vanilla, cloves, cinnamon, in summary Coca Cola. Suitable for noisy youth parties with cocktails and girls.

P. S. By the way, bottle and design of the label looking good. Marketing did a good job.
