A lot of distilleries are springing up in Colorado. So, of course a spiced rum has emerged. The Colorado whiskies are very mediocre. Colorado vodka is flat terrible. Colorado rum needs serious work. There is zero depth. Zero balance. Tastes like a young distillate with powerful spices thrown in. No aging or craftsmanship here. Spices are too strong and do not meld well with the rum. Better than Captain Morgan.........yes. Better than bacardi........... what isn't? But that is about as impressive as being the best ski jumper in Hondurus. Get to work boys. This needs work.
Burnt coffee. Heavy body. Unfortunately, way too sharp and unbalanced. Do not want to try this one again.
This is my standard for rum and ginger beer. I will drink it neat out on the rocks and love it. This is my Captains replacement.
Reminiscent of spice cake. A bit harsh to drink neat; an ice cube mellows well. Seems like it would be a good mixer during the holidays. Break out the egg nog!
spiced can mean a number of things, but most are familiar with captain morgan. This is not an anesceptic captain morgan, but does not wow either. Perhaps better aging / blending for complexity can improve this offering.
Dried fruit dominates the nose. A little burn but overall smooth. Obviously a mixer rum but I like to try a taste or two neat. You definitely get the molasses. I think in the coke it brings out the brown sugar and overall decent.
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

Christmas Flavor Rum

Strong fruity aroma. Smells slightly like apple cider and orange. The spices are strong and slightly harsh in the middle and on the finish. Would be a great rum to use in a Christmas drink. A little too strong to sip but would be an excellent mixer.
