Decent Grenadian Rum

I was excited about this rum. I bought it in Grenada a couple years ago and had lost it in a move until recently.
It has a nice bright golden/copper color In the glass. The nose offers some hints of caramel, vanilla, and baking spices; but this is masked by strong alcohol, indicating a younger rum. This assumption is backed up by heavy alcohol on the palette, far more than I’d expect from an 80 proof rum. This too masks the nice oak, cinnamon, and vanilla flavor notes the rum offers. The overall mouthfeel is very dry leading to a similar finish with a lingering warming sensation.
Overall this is a decent rum from an amazing island. It’s worthy of a few cubes, which open it up a bit, but not above a higher end cocktail. C+
