This is an average, lower end dark rum that can be used well in any cocktail with a dark need. Nothing to write home about though.

I love the rich molasses flavor on top of my Mai Tai! I am glad I live in Hawaii and can get it easily!

I just got back from Maui, While there I bought a bottle of Old Lahaina Dark. I am not normally a big dark rum drinker but I was staying near Lahaina so I had to try it. I finished the bottle but honestly it wasn't very good, but I was in Maui so it was all good.

Harsh, strong rubbing alcohol notes. Can work in a mixed drink but quite disappointing overall.

Agree with the previous reviewer on taste and bouquet. Not bad in a rum w Coke Zero and a lime wedge. Probably best served as the dark rum float in a Pina Colada.

This rum's colour is pretty black and opaque, although it has a nice mild molasses smell to it. It has a light-medium molasses taste that is OK when mixed with Ginger Beer. Pretty expensive for what you get... Maybe its better in a traditional Mai Tai.
