Nose: Hints of spicy oak on the nose with guava, plenty of coconut and dried banana.

My good friend Mark had me over for a rum tasting last night, this was the first I sampled, thoroughly sublime with a slight butterscotch or caramel hint, also a bit of fruit notes. Not overly sweet though, well balanced and smooth, top notch sipper! This, Diplimatico, Papa’s Pilar and El Dorado are my current favorites. Thanks Mark!
Absolutely one of my favorites.
This rum smells like heaven, warm, sweet with a hint of alcohol soaked bananas.
Tastes of much the same with some raisin and a hint of bourbon to boot.
Caramel in color.
The combo makes you want to say, “brown sugar, how come you dance so good.”
The Plantation Barbados is very smooth and sweet with a nice rum aroma, great to enjoy purely and one of the best values you get for the money. If I had to choose a rum for a beginner, I would choose this one. Mine came in a different bottle, see the image.
I've sampled rums from £3 to £150 and this is the best I've had to drink straight. Beautiful sweet coconut, zero burn, leaves you wanting more.
Haven't tried mixing it, I would imagine it is too sweet but why would you want to anyway? Superb.
This is a nice rum for those entering their rum journey. It hit a good spot on sweetness and vanilla. Beautiful bottle and overall presentation too. Wish it had been allowed to stand on its own without so much sugar though,
edited to add sugar test results- 29g
very nice rum, resembles fine cognac but obviously the typical bajan overtones both on the nose and on the palate reveal the place of origin very quickly.
Though I like my rums a bit more powerful, this was a teeny bit too thin, not viscous and dense like Presidente 15 or El Dorado 15. This was more like a perfume.
Still very lovely bottle.
An amazing and smooth rum with only a pleasant aftertaste, this rum combines everything that’s great about rum perfectly. It’s hard to imagine any rum beating it - a bargain at even double the price
A nice sipping rum with a pretty distinctive smell when comparing it to other rums. It must be the chocolate hints that makes the smell a bit weird (in my opinion). The after taste however, is great!
Great nose, but surprising taste. A real masterpiece!
Here is a lot of cocos in the nose and body, but also caramel, banana and the spices of oak. Further, a hint of cinnamon can be found. This is an excellent taste.
Barbadian rummin all its splendor! If you like tropical sweet fruits you will love it. It makes an awesome present too!
This one is silky smooth from start to finish - there is no unpleasant burn, just gentle velvety ending, just the way I like it. It is also quite sweet, I can feel vanilla, caramel and perhaps even coconut accents. This rum convinced me to go and give rums a chance.
Great coconut- and vanilla-flavor.
Smooth and not too sweet.
Très parfumer comme gout, gout coconut, petit gout d'orange
Fantastic rum with nice sweetness and a coconut taste. It's one of my all time favorites and accompanies a nice summer dessert like ice cream or fruits. Yummy!
This rum really nails it for me.
Nice & sweet, but not too much
Complex rummy flavour
Fruity coconut hints
You really get a taste of the Caribbean here, simply fantastic.
I liked the diplomatico reserva exclusica but this one exceeds it in my opinion. He is perfectly balanced in his strength and sweetness. A true delight!
I had the opportunity to taste this good rum from Barbados. Clasic, off-swet rum, with medium intense citrus nose, harmonic and enjoyable warm rum. Very long, integrated alkohol.
Good stuff for being Plantation. A sipping rum with a Big palate
Along the lines of most plantation rums. Smooth with candy like notes but you get a nice toffee bouquet taste. Very smooth with no bitter or heat down the throat. Well worth the awards
This is a hidden treasure it is a real wonderful sipper. Maybe one Ice cube ? (not). I just like adding time, let it rest and enjoy.
All the best
Nothing overly exciting but aged to a very high quality.
Very smooth, buttery after taste. I could easily have this drink all night.
Lots of coconut, smooth in the back. Hint of chocolate.
