To have a truly good rum, one has to start with a solid base distillate. Here is a white rum that doesn't offer a solid base or a good taste. The rest of the line suffers for it, except for the flavored versions of ginger and tea. The flavors there mask the lack thereof here.

Enjoyed a bottle of Malahat Silver while in Los Angeles. Pretty nice and sturdy bottle design. High end label design. Reasonably priced at $18. Pure alcohol to your nose and palate mixed with very young rum flavors. Strong and nasty burn at the end. Not a neat sipper by any means, so better your favorite soda out.

Since I received as a gift the price was zero and I over paid. Even adding coke didn’t help. Cool bottle and that’s the best place for it in the bottle
