Zatial jednoznacne najlepsia volba od znacky Oliver & Oliver. Jemny, suchsi, kremovy, exelentne vyvazeny ale silny chutovy profil, karamel, cokolada, vanilka, naznak sudov s extra dlhym dozvukom. Cena je vysoka ale tato kvalita za to stoji.

I bought this rum because oh the rating it has on this website.
I thought I could have got a good rum if I paid a large amount of money (>€100).
However I was totally wrong: It smells of alcohol, no body, lots of burn and a little vanilla & chocolate flavour. Little sweetness I have to say it's a plus, but overall it's really crappy. In my opinion it' s definitely not worth the price.
It taste something like the QUORHUM 30 anniversary but with a less intense flavour, almost watery.
For such a price I would expect way something more.
To finish, do not trust the reviews on this websites- they are way to "generous"!

My journey has mainly been on the more expensive rums. I have found my taste for Oliver rums. This is a very good rum. Smooth start middle and with a long tail. I get toffee, spice, fruit with spice end. Had a friend bring back from DR. BOTTLE 699 2020. A bit pricey but what the heck I’m glad to have tried it.

I absolutely love this one, not as complex as Unhiq XO made by the same producer, yet still perfect. One of my favourites.

Great! Just great!
The nose is full of caramel, red berries, sticky toffee and thick butterscotch. So rich and dense.
The taste is awesome. Rich and thick. Superb balance between sweet and spicy. Long lasting aftertaste.

Velmi sofistikovaný ale pořád v celku univerzální. Ačkoliv je hodnocený jako suchý je docela nasladlý. Vůně vanilka a dub. Chuť nasladlá a sud. Nedovedu si představit, že by někomu úplně nechutnal.

Nothing special happened today. To make my monday special I decided to open this rum. Long story short: it worked! Another great Spanish style quality rum from Oliver y Oliver. Zero regrets. Although I don't have anything negative to state about this rum I'll rate it a 9. I'm kind of optimistic to experience even better rums in the future.

Cubaney has a new package. It looks better than the old one in my opinion.
I know some other rums that go in that direction (QRM30, Cubaney 21 and 25). They are not that good but a way cheaper.
Yes, there are some similarities with QRM30. QRM has more sherry aroma, more wood, more alcohol in the nose. Cubaney is more balanced, more intense in the taste, it's heavier, I think it's older.
But QRM has a better value for the price.
So why is it a 9? Easy to explain, there is too much sherry influence, you can not recognize the original rum. Yes it's tasty, it's complex and intensive, but sherry is not a distillery character and also not a note that is typical for DomRep rums.
Smell: Caramel, wood, some sherry, fruits/dry fruits (apricot, cherries, peach), burned sugar. Very nice, very smooth, well balanced.
Taste initial: Caramel, sweetness, red fruits, fruits (apricot)
Middle: wood with apricots, honey, sherry
Finish: spice, burned suggar, again wood with apricots.
Aftertaste: Sherry and cherry compote, dry apricot (I expected that, typical for Oliver & Oliver).
Sweetness: 2.5/5
Spice: 2.5/5
Fruit: 3.5/5
Mildness: 4/5
Value (80€): 2.5/5
