This rum have a very strange and old bottle look and people seeing it would like to feel and touch it. The taste is not that sweet but more dry and bitter!

Cool bottle. Nice color. But there it stops.. The taste is weak to awfull.. And the finish is close to nothing. But i dont regret buying it.

In the bottle purchased in San Antonio for $22. Tasted on 4-1-24. Pours a dark purple garnet color. Aroma of chocolate, raisins, and tobacco. Milder flavors with a silky palate. Grapes, candy sweetness, and leather. Mild peppery metallic finish. Less of the PX shows through this.

I bought it on a trip to Mexico knowing its history. Nice bottle. Pleasant, fruity aroma. Slightly sweet, noticeable alcohol. The flavor bouquet is completely out of harmony.

Very different from what I'm used to. I get it why it got prohibited... There where so many better rum out there... Loss of barrels to age it :D

Way to sweet. Not even serviceable as a liqueur.
Had to give it away ;)
Taste: raisin, cinnamon and pepper. Little bit of coffee taste.
El Ron Prohibido Gran Reserva 15 has a stronger and spicier taste.

Zapach: Wyraźna czekolada, kakao, trochę starego wina, rodzynki, prażone orzechy, wyraźna beczka. Całość jest wyraźna, przyjemna lecz równocześnie niezbyt skomplikowana
Smak: Wyraźne nuty kakao, czekolady oraz suszone owoce, delikatna słodycz, wyraźna beczka oraz palony karmel. Całość pozostawia wyraźny alkoholowy posmak w przełyku. Po dodaniu lodu pojawiają się nuty tytoniowe które również w drinku z colą pozostają wyczuwalne
Hmm... Trudno jest mi ten rum ocenić - z jednej strony jest ładna, solidna oraz zakorkowana butelka, dobra historia, ciekawe pochodzenie (trudno o meksykański rum w europie) oraz spora doza czekoladowości i fajne nuty winne. Z drugiej rum nie jest skomplikowany, raczej pozostawia wrażenia alkoholowe a użyty do stworzenia drinków nie pozostawia fajnych wrażeń które uzasadniałyby jego cenę (około 120pln). Mnie ten rum jednak kupuje - pewnie dlatego iż nie jest on oczywisty oraz ma zupełnie innych charakter niż liderzy rynku.
