Very nice, more so if you don't like real sweet rums. Lingering aftertaste is real pronounced. Hints of smoke, easy to drink. Will be putting this one in the rotation.
Was expecting a sharp whiskey barrel taste from the bottle, wow was I wrong! Sweet vanilla on the nose, smooth, buttery oak on the tongue. Great sipper, glad I tried it! Will buy again, just can't go wrong with Foursquare!
For all fans of whisky. Rum has a great story and unique for single malt.
Nice and simple rum, not too much going on but what's there is really nice. A bit underwhelming for the price, but not bad by any means
I’m disappointed it’s not a bit higher proof! But this is lovely oaky smoky dry stuff. Distiller by foursquare in Barbados I believe
Scuttle me if this not be a truly delightful rum! She smells sweet, like a lot of brown sugar, but there also be a fair amount of oak, a bit of caramel, and wee tiny bit of chocolate hidin' below deck. As for taste, she be RICH... soft and silky smooth, but not as sweet as she smells. The bourbon comes through first, and then a bit of caramel that quickly turns into chocolate and fruits together - all even-Steven like. Not sweet, not bitter, but good together - like cannons and balls. The finish be a little on the peppery side with almost zero burn goin' down the hatch. Aye, this be a smooth and flavorful rum from start to finish. If you find yourself in a port servin' this, you owe it to yourself to try some while on shore leave. Doctor's orders...
I’ve been procrastinating with buying a bottle of this rum for a while on account of its 40% ABV.
I’ve been disappointed with most offerings at 40% lately but this bottle is incredible.
Eminently sippable, this rum is easy to drink, offers a well rounded profile and is quickly becoming one of my favorite rums.
As with all Foursquare offerings, there are no additives, so the fact that this is so smooth is unexpected. I’ve spent a lot of time with Foursquare ECS bottles this last year and they are amazing, but sometimes they are just too much for me and I have to walk away for a bit.
This RMC 12 offers all the flavor of an ECS bottling, albeit a bit less complex and far easier to drink.
I made mojitos with it last night and everyone agreed it was the best they had ever had!
Nose: Molasses and brown sugar, a hint of caramel
Palate: sweet but not cloying. Notes of vanilla, honey and creme broulee.
Finish: long honey and vanilla with a mild burn, a hint of cinnamon.
Overall, this will become a staple in my cabinet from now on, especially at 33 euros a bottle!
Very smooth, but not in an overly sugary way. Never had foursquare, and this might be the closest I'll come for a while!
Mature tropical fruits, demerara sugar, oak and baking spices
"The Real McCoy 12-Year rum review by a Mountain of Crushed Ice"
Has some very Bourbon like sweet/sour like notes.
"It is rich, intense and quite spicy. Very oaky yet not overly dry."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

It is dry properly aged rum with sweet wood nose and a bit of a plume flavor, but the background hides some soap that prevents it from getting higher score. The burn is moderate, maybe quite high for 12y aging.
