When I smelled it I already thought this one is going to have a slightly sharper flavour. And it was. Still, I must say it was quite tasty after the third sip. A bit tobacco-like. And a nice little smoky aftertaste. Actually quite nice I must say. A good 7. And in the cola the little smoky aftertaste really comes into its own. Cheers!
Es bueno para mi gusto, y tiene una presentación interesante en caja y botella
a very nice bottle with fine artwork
a solid body that gives you a nice and heaty burn. No addons-thats the reason for the five- and maybe some hints of nuts and wood.
But... That's all...
The reason im writing reviews is that many times i have found myself to feel befouled.
Taste is something very subjective, none disagrees, but when the consensus is around 8, without however providing a sense that the reviews had be written after a taste of the product, or that are for the same product, and you get a bottle of the product with great expectations and the only think you get is disappointment something is very wrong...
So, with an intention to reduce the probabilities to feel befouled, a 5 from me. This product is not worth the 55euros. there are far more better options.
Premier rhum colombier. Je recommande, jolie travail sur ce rhum.
I tried this run side by side with the Zacapa 23 and is a typical solera rum: very smooth, easy to drink and slight vanilla notes. Compared to the Zacapa 23 it feels more balanced with the Zacapa almost having a sour note to it. Lovely bottle too!
As i'm often into sweet rums (with added sugar) this one came as a suprise. Verry smooth, subtile taste and little burn. I would recommand it!
Great Colombian Rum bit nothing special. Litle bit Sweet.
Nice rich smell of caramel and toffee with orange fruity notes.
"It is zesty and spicy with more pronounced orange flavour. There is also a red grape flavour which is very pleasant."
Try to get a well lit shot from the front of the rum label

It's not quite Diplomatico but it's not far off - maybe not quite as smooth, not quite as sweet - but defintely has a character to it with a slight alcohol burn and a long lingering aftertaste of nicely roasted coffee. I have to say, a second bottle of this might see the rating go up a notch but for now it's good at 8/10.
(edit: downgraded to a 7 as my tasting experiences and palette have developed over time).
